Trap Door Theatre Presents the World Premiere of LETTER OF LOVE (The Fundamentals of Judo), based on the texts by Fernando Arrabal and Yves Klein. and translated by Pollux Hernuñez & Aleksi Barriere. The show is devised and directed by Aleksi Barriere.

Broad Stage's 2018 Celebrity Opera Series continues with Elina Garanca, mezzo-soprano with orchestra conducted by Karel Mark Chichon, in An Homage to Spain.

Canton Museum of Art (CMA) will observe Presidents' Day with free gallery admission from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, February 19, 2018. Free art acitivites for all ages will be available in the lobby, one of which will be inspired by the legacy of president Abraham Lincoln.

Celebrate international art, music, food, and more at the Canton Museum of Art's World Fair event on Saturday, February 10, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Admission into the event is free for all ages. Visitors will take a journey through the museum, discovering new cultural experiences at every turn. Special performances inspired by international talent will take place in the lobby, courtyard, and galleries while guests are encouraged to create unique souvenirs using traditional folk-art techniques. A special Mail Art exhibit will be on display from an international mail art call featuring handmade works from around the globe. From the gardens of Japan to the petite desserts of France, everyone is invited to celebrate international culture at the Canton Museum of Art.

La Mirada Theatre presents CABARET, which opened January 19th and runs through February 11th. The musical, with book by Joe Masteroff, Lyrics by Fred Ebb and Music by John Kander, is set in a Club (the Kit Kat Klub, to be specific) in 1930s Germany, threatened by the rising Nazi party. CABARET follows singer Sally Bowles, her love interest Cliff, and an mysterious figure named the Emcee.

Despite my well-earned affection for the Tony-winning 1998 Roundabout Theatre Company production of the classic Kander and Ebb Broadway classic CABARET, I still found myself vigorously entertained by McCoy Rigby Entertainment's flashy and buoyant new 2018 regional production of this theatrical staple, under the solid direction of Larry Carpenter and featuring spectacular musical performances from its lead cast. This deliciously bawdy but at times sneakily ominous musical continues performances at the La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts through February 11, 2018.

Eli and Edythe Broad General Director Pl cido Domingo has announced the repertory and artist roster for the company's 2018/19 season, planned by Mr. Domingo in collaboration with Richard Seaver Music Director James Conlon and Sebastian Paul and Marybelle Musco President and CEO Christopher Koelsch. The season will include six mainstage productions presented at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, with additional performances presented elsewhere through the company's Off Grand initiative.

Mark Morris, the renowned choreographer, brings his company to Philadelphia for the first time in 14 years and serves as the Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts' inaugural artist-in-residence. To usher in the new opera season, San Francisco Opera Guild will produce its signature benefit event, Opera Ball 2018.

The fourth year of BCMF Spring, the spring series of the Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival, presents three concerts featuring favorite BCMF musicians, both veteran and recent, and the acclaimed Pacifica Quartet performing some treasures of the chamber music repertoire. The new exhibition Elijah Pierce: An American Journey at the Canton Museum of Art (CMA) celebrates the artwork of one of the most important self-taught, American folk artists of the 20th century: Elijah Pierce (1892 1984). Pierce was a prolific African American wood carver known for his brightly painted sculptural panels illustrating biblical stories, moral lessons, historical events, and images from popular culture a landscape of wood-carved art that is unlike any in America. This exhibit focuses on 39 major works. Featured in the exhibit is Pierce's most ambitious carving, Book of Wood (1932), consisting of seven panels with 33 scenes illustrating the years Christ lived on the earth, as well as works depicting segregation, the Vietnam War, Watergate, and Civil Rights, among others. This exhibition is on view November 24, 2017 - March 4, 2018 with a free public reception on Thursday, December 7, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Anyone arriving at the San Francisco Opera expecting that the new John Adams-Peter Sellars collaboration, GIRLS OF THE GOLDEN WEST, will sound like any of their previous projects--THE DEATH OF KLINGHOFFER, DR. ATOMIC (also a SF Opera commission) or NIXON IN CHINA--will probably be in for a big surprise. The opera has its world premiere on November 21 in what was once a small town until the boom of California's Gold Rush.

The Fox Theatre Institute (FTI) has awarded over $85,000 to four immediate need projects under the organization's newly-created Urgent/Emergency Need Grant, a part of FTI's expanded funding efforts to support historic Georgia theaters.
