West End and UK theatres will dim their lights on October 7, 2025, to honor Dame Patricia Routledge, who has died at 96. Routledge’s acclaimed career included an Olivier Award, a Tony Award, and her beloved BAFTA-winning role as Hyacinth Bucket in Keeping Up Appearances.

BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that Dame Katherine Patricia Routledge, English actress and singer, known for her work on stage and screen, has died at age 96.

The new musical Goddess can currently be seen in its New York premiere production at the Public Theater on Lafayette Street. Directed by the Public’s associate artistic director and resident director Saheem Ali, who is currently Tony Award-nominated for directing Buena Vista Social Club, Goddess is playing at the Public’s largest space by capacity, the Newman Theatre.

Milton Keynes Theatre welcomes brand-new stage adaptation of The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel to the city 24 - 28 Jan 2023. Hayley Mills (Pollyanna, The Parent Trap, Whistle Down the Wind) Paul Nicholas (Jesus Christ Superstar, BBC 1's Just Good Friends, Eastenders and Rula Lenska, (ITV's Rock Follies, Coronation Street, Channel 4's Celebrity Big Brother will star in this feel-good tale of love, adventure, and starting-over.
