ELIZABETH IRELAND McCANN, the iconoclastic Broadway producer who won nine Tony Awards during a 60-year career in theater, died after a bout with cancer on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2021 at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx, according to her longtime associate and friend, Kristen Luciani.  She was 90 years old. 

Actor Mandy Patinkin has shared a video of himself soothing the separation anxiety of his beloved dog, Becky. In the video, posted to the actor's Twitter, Patinkin shared that he wants to record himself singing three Hebrew blessings to be played before Becky's meals, when he leaves and has to be away from her.

The fan, who goes by @alaska_webb on TikTok, but her real name is Amanda, shared that her father who passed away earlier this year, loved the film. She said she was struck by the scene in which Montoya kills the Count and says he wants his father back, but was even more moved when she heard that Patinkin's own father's passing served as inspiration for the emotional moment.

The Desert Rose Playhouse production of THE GREAT AMERICAN TRAILER PARK MUSICAL is currently running in the company's new location in Palm Springs. The show features fabulous performances and design, and terrific direction by Robbie Wayne. The American Dance Festival and the North Carolina Museum of Art have partnered to present Together We Dance, an outdoor festival in the Joseph M. Bryan, Jr., Theater in the Museum Park from September 9 to 16.

Battery Dance celebrates the 40th Anniversary of its free summer festival from August 12-20, 2021, in partnership with Battery Park City Authority. The 40th Annual Battery Dance Festival features 16 international dance films from August 12-14 at 7pm ET via YouTube. 40 in-person and livestreamed performances will be staged at Robert F. Wagner, Jr. Park, New York City, from August 15-20 at 7pm ET. In total, 32 premieres by 53 dance companies are offered to international audiences, promoting Battery Dance’s mission of connecting the world through dance.

Running alongside Fever Pitch in the late slot will be THE GOOD DAD from 31 August – 11 September, followed by KING, from 21 – 25 September. RAT KING will play from 5 – 9 October, LOVESICK will play from 2 – 6 November, followed by DARLING from 9 – 27 November, and this year's festive offering will be a live adaptation of one of the Hope at Home shows put out digitally during the pandemic, 21 ROUND FOR CHRISTMAS, playing from 30 November – 18 December.
