Mayo Performing Arts Center will present the Morristown engagement of the Tony Award®-nominated Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof at Friday-Saturday, June 17-18.

Both theatre enthusiasts and critics alike flock to new shows, hoping to view an exciting production they will always remember. In turn, the actors, crew and creatives involved with these shows work tirelessly to open a production that will engage audiences and give themselves a sense of accomplishment. Although no shows opened during the Spring of 2021 due to the pandemic, April has already demonstrated that Broadway is back again with the opening of ten new productions! For those who have not been able to witness these productions yet, here is a quick recap of Broadway’s April 2022 openings.

PNC Broadway in Kansas City will present the beloved theatrical classic FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. This production will take the Music Hall stage May 3–8, 2022.

Pasadena Playhouse has announced casting and creative team for the Los Angeles premiere of the Richard Nelson, Richard Pevear, and Larissa Volokhonsky translation of Uncle Vanya by Anton Chekhov coming to the Playhouse June 1 through June 26; the press opening is Sunday, June 5 at 5 p.m. 

The Peace Center announced today the 2022-2023 Peace Broadway Season. Bookended by the return of two blockbuster musicals –– Dear Evan Hansen and Wicked –– the upcoming season features an astounding collection of phenomenal titles.

Austin Pendleton, the award winning actor/writer/director currently starring in 'The Minutes' on Broadway, will direct a reading of 'King Lear' at the AMT Theater May 1st, 6pm.  The reading stars Charles E. Gerber as Lear and is produced by the Workshop Theater Company as part of its annual 'Will-A-Thon' celebrating the week of Shakespeare's birthday.  It will be presented at AMT, 354 West 45th Street.

The First National Tour has officially begun for the history-making production of To Kill a Mockingbird, Academy Award winner Aaron Sorkin's new play, directed by Tony winner Bartlett Sher and based on Harper Lee's classic novel. Read the reviews here!

Islandia Music Records announces a new multi-album series from “supreme living virtuoso” (The New Yorker) percussionist Steven Schick. The new series, called Weather Systems, is a set of recordings of the percussion music that has been most meaningful to Schick, which will span more than 100 years and feature a diverse set of composers.

Darius de Haas delves into the world of Sam Cooke – his gospel roots and triumphant 1964 engagement at the Copacabana; his classics of romance, and work as a trailblazing entrepreneur and civil rights activist.

The Tony Award®-nominated Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof returns to the Van Wezel on Tuesday, April 19, through Thursday, April 21, with all three performances starting at 7:30 p.m.

The American Theatre Guild will present the Colorado Springs engagement of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. This production is part of the BROADWAY IS BACK AT PIKES PEAK CENTER SERIES and takes place February 15-16, 2022.
