Compagnia De' Colombari Presents MORE OR LESS I AM At Fort Greene Park

Compagnia de' Colombari, an international collective of performing artists founded and directed by Karin Coonrod, presents More Or Less I Am: a music-theater piece drawn entirely from Walt Whitman's revolutionary free verse long poem, 'Song of Myself,'one of the original twelve pieces that comprise his 1855 collection Leaves of Grass. The next performance in this series, spanning multiple venues throughout the five boroughs, will take place on Sunday, May 26, 2019, 7:30 pm at Fort Greene Park, Brooklyn.

This year's recipients are Bette Midler, Wing Chao, Robert Downey Jr., Jon Favreau, James Earl Jones, Kenny Ortega, Barnette Ricci, Robin Roberts, Diane Sawyer, Ming-Na Wen, and Hans Zimmer. 

Pittsburgh Symphony Announces Eighth Fellow In Training Program For African American Musicians

The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra is pleased to announce the appointment Shantanique Moore, flutist, as the next recipient of the symphony's two-year fellowship designed to enable one young African American musician the ability to dedicate him or herself to the pursuit of an orchestral career. Ms. Moore will be the eighth recipient of a fellowship from the symphony's EQT Orchestra Training Program for African American Musicians (OTPAAM).

OSNY Music Director Kent Tritle leads the performance, which features the soloists Elizabeth de Trejo, soprano; Raehann Bryce-Davis, mezzo-soprano; Joshua Blue, tenor; and Adam Lau, bass, on Thursday, May 9, 2019, at 8:00 pm.

New York City's Parsons Dance, one of today's most prominent American dance companies, will return to White Bird after a long absence to perform a six-part program, featuring signature works alongside an exciting tribute to New Orleans jazz. Led by Artistic Director David Parsons, the 8-member company's unstoppable energy and spellbinding technique will provide for a spectacular night of contemporary dance. Founded in 1985 by former celebrated Paul Taylor dancer David Parsons and Tony Award-winning lighting designer Howell Binkley, Parsons Dance is internationally renowned for its athletic and energized ensemble work. The ASPECT Foundation for Music & Arts continues its third New York City season of illuminating performances with Archduke Rudolf: Beethoven's Pupil and Patron on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 7:30pm at Bohemian National Hall. Russian-American pianist and conductor Ignat Solzhenitsyn is joined by violinist Korbinian Altenberger and cellist Na-Young Baek for a program of works Beethoven dedicated to his most significant patron and composition student, Archduke Rudolf of Austria: the Violin Sonata No.10 in G major, Op.96 and Piano Trio in B-flat major, Op. 97 “Archduke.”

Artistic Director Mathis Huber of Austria's recreation-GROSSES ORCHESTER GRAZ announced today following this evening's concert performance that American-Taiwanese conductor Mei-Ann Chen has been appointed Principal Guest Conductor of the 17-year-old orchestra. The appointment extends through the 2021-22 season, beginning September 2019.
