Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble Presents Collaborative Performance On LGBTQ+ Identity

Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble has announced the third installment of its 2019-20 Art & Activism Performance Series, THE QUEER LANDSCAPE, an evening of live performance, art, and poetry centered around the intricacies, awareness, and opression of LGBTQ+ identity. Topics of featured performance works examine displacement of the trans community, violence and hate crimes, the evolution of coming out and coming into one's self acceptance, and gender fluidity. THE QUEER LANDSCAPE will play March 20-21, 2020 at Chicago Danztheatre's permanent home, Ebenezer Lutheran Church Auditorium, 1650 W. Foster Ave. in Chicago's Andersonville neighborhood. Tickets are currently available at danztheatre.org.

Toulmin Foundation in support of new development positions; an OPERA America Repertoire grant to support Repertoire Development; a General Operating support grant from the Howard Gilman Foundation; and support for community outreach and training from the The New York City Department of Cultural Affairs.

Three New York City-Based Musical Groups to Perform in Zankel Hall as Part of the Musical Explorers Family Concert

On Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., three vibrant New York City-based musical groups will perform in Zankel Hall as part of the Musical Explorers Family Concert, an interactive experience celebrating music from around the world. The performance features cumbia with Gregorio Uribe, Armenian folk with Zulal, and hip-hop with Soul Science Lab. Free pre-concert activities are offered one hour prior to each performance, preparing parents and children to sing and dance along with the artists.

Craig, joined by CMT's Cody Alan and members of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders squad, brought a taste of home to our military men and women during the visit to Camp Humphreys, South Korea. The visit will be highlighted in a special episode of CMT's “Hot 20 Countdown,” airing at 9am ET/8am CT on Saturday, December 14 and Sunday, December 15 and again on Saturday, December 28 and Saturday, December 29.

The company is performing May 31st through June 2nd at the Kennedy Center as part of Ballet Across America. Old Forester's Paristown Hall, Louisville's newest state-of-the-art standing room venue, has announced a roster of performances for its opening in late July. These acts include iconic New York rock band Interpol, Memphis country-punk rockers Lucero and singer-songwriter sensation Gavin DeGraw.  The Opening Night event on July 23 will be headlined by Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, along with a slate of performers including the dance troupe Pilobolus, Mucca Pazza and local favorite Ben Sollee.

IFC Center today announced an impressive and wide-ranging lineup for the third annual Split Screens Festival (www.splitscreensfestival.com) taking place Wednesday, May 29 through Monday, June 3, 2019, at the IFC Center in New York City. The festival consists of special events offering a variety of looks at history, identity and the mystery of existence itself, including panels on series that explore dystopian realities and alternate timelines, and screenings that transport us into any number of time periods and places, be it a late-1800s South Dakota town or the height of 1980s ballroom culture in New York City.
