The Actors Fund announced today a 40th Anniversary reunion benefit concert of the 1979 hit Broadway production of They're Playing Our Song. The concert will be held on Monday, February 11th at 7:30 pm at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th St.) and will star the Broadway cast members Lucie Arnaz as 'Sonia Walsk' and Robert Klein as 'Vernon Gersch'.

EZI is excited to release her beguiling new single, 'Need You Like That' via 5 Town Records. It is the first taste of an upcoming EP, largely inspired by her experience growing up as a young women in America who's family immigrated from USSR. While writing, EZI was drawn to her father's story, a classical violinist who arrived in the US in 1981 with just $200 and his violin. Of the track she notes, 'This song is about temptation, but keeping the lyrics ambiguous was very much an intentional choice. I made it on a whim at 1am in a basement room in New York and really stepped away from myself when making it. I eventually asked my dad to come join me in the studio and play violin on the track, which made the whole experience very special.'  

In his first musical version since it was written in 1960, Nelson Rodrigues' classic work performs short season at SESC Vila Mariana. The show has songs by Claudio Lins, direction by Joao Fonseca, and musical direction by Delia Fischer.

Dr. David DiChiera, Founder and long-time General Director of Michigan Opera Theatre (MOT), died today at his home in Detroit with his family by his side. He was 83 years old and had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in March, 2017.

The Nashville Association of Talent Directors (NATD) has announced six highly-respected honorees who will be recognized at the 8th Annual NATD Honors Gala scheduled for November 7, 2018, at the Hermitage Hotel. Tickets for the gala can be purchased here.

Actor Patrick Cassidy, best known for his roles in musical theatre and television, headlines Some Enchanted Evening ~ A Night of Broadway Song & Dance to benefit Inland Pacific Ballet, the professional ballet company based in the Inland Empire. This 2nd annual intimate cabaret evening features song and dance by Inland Pacific Ballet dancers and Academy students, cocktails, hor d'oeuvres, dessert, silent/live auction, and is hosted by IPB Associate Director Jonathan Sharp (The Red Shoes, Carousel, The Rocky Horror Show Live, The Dance of the Vampires, Fiddler on the Roof). Producers Tommy Mottola, the Dodgers, Tribeca Productions and Evamere Entertainment are pleased to announce a Rochester engagement of A BRONX TALE at RBTL's Auditorium Theatre. Rochester will be the official launch city of the North American Tour of A BRONX TALE with a limited one-week run at RBTL's Auditorium Theatre October 14-21, 2018 as part of the 2018-2019 M&T Bank Broadway Season presented by RBTL and Albert Nocciolino. A BRONX TALE, the new musical features a book by Academy Award nominee Chazz Palminteri, music by Oscar, Grammy, and Tony Award winner Alan Menken, and lyrics by Grammy Award winner and Oscar and Tony Award nominee Glenn Slater, directed by two-time Oscar winner Robert De Niro and four-time Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks, with choreography by Tony nominee Sergio Trujillo.

As Labor Day quickly approaches, it's time to take a look at all of the upcoming shows hitting Broadway between now and the the end of the year. With thirteen new shows opening between now and then, this season has something for everyone!

This afternoon The Edinburgh Comedy Awards announced their thirteen nominees for Best Newcomer and Best Comedy Show including eight of the Pleasance's performers. Among those nominated for Best Newcomer are Ciaran Dowd, Olga Koch, Sarah Keyworth and Sindhu Vee. Best Comedy Show nominees include Alex Edelman, Kieran Hodgson, Rose Matafeo and Felicity Ward.

Global music legend Phil Collins is set to make his long-anticipated return to Australia with his Not Dead Yet: Live! tour, presented by TEG Dainty. The 5-date tour kicks off on Saturday 19 January at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium, followed by Sydney's Qudos Bank Arena on Monday 21 January, Adelaide Oval on Friday 25 January, RAC Arena (formerly known as Perth Arena) on Monday 28 January and Melbourne's AAMI Park on Friday 1 February.

Joan Tower, the Asher Edelman Professor in the Arts at Bard College, is renowned as one of America's most important living composers. This September, The Bard College Conservatory of Music celebrates Tower's 80th birthday with a concert program of featuring world premieres of Towers' recent compositions including Small Plus (2018) performed by S? Percussion; Looking Back (2018) performed by the Da Capo Chamber Players; and Thank You (2018), with Dawn Upshaw conducting members of the Bard Conservatory Graduate Vocal Arts Program.

Written by Milta Ortiz, who penned 2015's award winning Mas, about the banning of ethnic studies classes in T.U.S.D., Sanctuary is based on the people and events leading up to the 1980's Sanctuary movement that ignited in Tucson when concerned citizens took a radical moral stand in support of people fleeing unimaginable violence.

Built in 1913 as the flagship for the big time vaudeville circuit run by E.F. Albee and Martin Beck, manager of the Western Vaudeville Managers Association, the Palace was the perfect showplace for the biggest of big time vaudeville during the last two decades of its existence.

As the brand-new Interim Executive Producer of Theatre Arlington I am thrilled to announce our brand-new 2018-2019 season. We had to make some changes in our season due to national tours and licensing restrictions. One show change affects the balance of the season as a whole and gave me the opportunity to make new artistic choices.

Ragtime, one of the most powerful and vibrant musicals of this era, will be celebrating its 20th anniversary this July on the Dixon Hall stage.  Based on the E.L. Doctorow novel, Ragtime tells the story of a restless America at the turn of the twentieth century where everything is changing and anything is possible.  It is a timeless celebration of life - what it could and should be. It tells the stories of an upper-class wife, a Jewish immigrant and a daring Harlem musician - All three characters are united by their desire and belief in a brighter tomorrow.  The Tony-winning score by Ahrens & Flaherty will be brought to life with the 38 member cast and 26-piece orchestra.
