BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that Maurice Edwards, opera and stage director and actor, has died at age 97 due to COVID-19.

MaryJo Mundy, the highly acclaimed and beloved cabaret singer and founder of the longest running open mic at the famed Gardenia, hosts the 4th night of what celebrates and fosters musical theatre/cabaret performers, while also showcasing her own remarkable talent. Goodspeed Musicals has announced this year's cast of A Connecticut Christmas Carol - the musical treat infused with Connecticut flavor by LJ Fecho and Michael O'Flaherty. Perfect for the holidays, A Connecticut Christmas Carol, the family-friendly take on the Dickens classic, will return to The Terris Theatre December 4 - 28, 2019. This production is supported in part by the Richard P. Garmany Fund at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, Masonicare at Chester Village and GKN Aerospace Services Structures Corporation.

Point Loma Playhouse wraps its 2019 season with The Fantasticks by Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt.  The Fantasticks had its premiere opening in 1960 and remained on the New York stage through 2002 making it the longest running musical ever with 17, 162 performances. A 2006 revival ran for another 4,390 performances.

Citadel Theatre Company, an Equity-affiliated professional company performing in Lake Forest, IL, has announced its 17th season.

ENSEMBLE THEATRE COMPANY (ETC) presents the fourth show of its 40th Anniversary Season, the Southern California premiere of the stunning and wildly popular novel by Jonathan Safran Foer, EVERYTHING IS ILLUMINATED, adapted by Simon Block and directed by Jonathan Fox.

THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, one of the world's most popular musicals, today announced the three principal cast members for the long-awaited Asian tour.
