Now The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas is back home at TUTS. Join rowdy football boys, a gun-happy sheriff, curvaceous crazy cheer¬leaders and, of course, Miss Mona with her racy girls. Miss Mona Stangley and her Girls have arrived in Downtown Arlington to have a darn-tootin' great time opening Theatre Arlington's 47th season with the award-winning musical, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. This charming, fun-loving musical by Carol Hall, Larry L. King and Peter Masterson, based loosely on the real-life Chicken Ranch in La Grange, Texas, recounts the story of Miss Mona's cozy little brothel that was popular with senators, mayors and football teams and protected by the local sheriff, Ed Earl Dodd. Times are good for Miss Mona's Girls until a TV evangelist's cameras and righteous indignation interfere. The lively tale is told with a bit of bawdy humor and high-energy production numbers, with sweet ballads and sentimentality thrown in, and is meant for mature audiences but as Miss Mona says, a?oethere's nothing dirty going on.a??

Since 1976 you've been in love with Carrie White, the telekinetic teen whose catastrophic prom night captivated the nation and led to thrilling adaptations, musicals, and revivals. Since 1999, you've completely missed the fact that CARRIE has a legitimate cinematic sequel that tells story of Carrie's half-sister, Rachel, an angst-ridden rebel whose life seems to be looking up until her mysterious powers take hold. Now, with CARRIE 2: THE RAGE, AN UNAUTHORIZED MUSICAL PARODY (In Concert), you can relive the magic of CARRIE in nearly every way as prom night survivor-turned-school counselor Sue Snell seeks to help Rachel before it's too late, Rachel's hyper-religious mother tries to kill her, and popular high schoolers prove, once again, they are the absolute worst. Following a Jeff Nominated run at the Underscore Theatre Company in Chicago, this extremely 90s experience featuring an original score by Preston Max Allen, music direction by Patrick Sulken, and direction by Portia Krieger is back in NYC to remind you exactly why the White family line has endured for decades.

Each year it follows the Junior Theater Festival in Atlanta, which just finished its 15th season. Over 2,200 people participated in the three-day festival, some coming from as far away as Australia, England, and South Korea. Students and educators benefited from the knowledge of top Broadway professionals in the form of adjudications, workshops, and a discussion panel entitled Pathways to Success, in which the featured guests shared how they forged their own paths to Broadway and beyond.

This episode of Broadway Rewind takes you to the opening night celebration of the new production of Michael Bennett's Pulitzer Prize winning musical A Chorus Line. But we start things off at a rehearsal for the one night only Actors Fund Benefit of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, which starred Emily Skinner as Miss Mona and Broadway's original 'Annie' herself, Andrea McArdle as Doatsey Mae. McArdle told BroadwayWorld's own Richard Ridge about her take on the role and her song, 'She reminds me a little bit of that Mabel Normand character. Doatsey Mae is very smart. If it wasn't for that Chicken Ranch in town, she would have been a happening girl. She's overshadowed by all of this tardiness in this tiny little town, (and the song), is a heartbreaking number. It's sweet and a great country number.
