René Buch, the co-founder and artistic director of Off-Broadway's Repertorio Español, has passed away at 94. The artistic leader, playwright, and director died April 19th at his home in New York.

Museum of Art and Design (MOAD) at Miami Dade College (MDC) presents Dora García: Rezos/Prayers Miami, an innovative audio installation that focuses the Spanish artist's performative practice onto a day in the life of Miami. Commissioned by MOAD, Rezos/Prayers Miami makes personal and specific experiences into collective and universal invocations. Dora García: Rezos/Prayers Miami will be on view from April 23 through Sept. 27. The audio project will also be accessible online at MOAD's website http://www.mdcmoad.org/.

A new traveling exhibition, 'Design Transfigured/Waste Reimagined,' is making its way to the Valley from Feb. 1 - May 17, 2020. Ana Bayat's critically-acclaimed one-woman show, Mimi's Suitcase, is an autobiographical journey through identity, immigration, women's rights, and involuntary displacement. With nothing but the titular suitcase, a trench coat, and a scarf, this universal coming-of-age story of resilience and humanity is a tour de force: a humorous and heartfelt portrayal of 27 characters (men and women of all ages) performed in four languages (English, Spanish, French and Persian/Farsi) with English supertitles. Mimi's Suitcase returns to the Bay Area for four performances only at Theatre of Yugen at NOHspace in San Francisco from January 23 through January 25.
