Cinema/Chicago today announced its annual free Summer Screenings Program with a selection of 17 feature films and one short film from around the world exploring the theme of adventure. All screenings are free and open to the public and take place on Wednesdays at 6:30pm from May 29 through October 2, 2019 at the Chicago Cultural Center (78 E. Florida Studio Theatre (FST) is proud to announce that the Annual Sarasota Improv Festival will return for its 11th year on Friday, July 12 and Saturday, July 13, 2019. Since its founding by Rebecca Hopkins in 2009, the Sarasota Improv Festival has become a destination event, and the premier Festival of its kind in the Southeastern United States. Carlos Miguel Prieto, Musical America's 2019 Conductor of the Year, will return to the United Kingdom for the second time this season to conduct the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain's (NYOGB) spring concert tour, in April 2019. Prieto will lead three performances - in London, Liverpool, and Birmingham - of a program dedicated to works by Mexican and American composers. These performances mark Prieto's first return appearance with the NYOGB, following his debut with the Orchestra in April 2017.
