For its 27th annual event, Dance for Life Chicago presents a diverse group of companies and artists performing August 18 at the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University, 50 E. The Martin E. Segal Theatre Center announces the fourth annual Segal Center Film Festival on Theatre and Performance (FTP). The program includes a roster of more than 35 features, shorts, and documentaries by artists from Argentina, Belgium, Canada, China, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Lebanon, The Netherlands, Poland, Serbia, The United Kingdom, and the United States. The festival takes place on Thursday, March 1; Friday, March 2; and Saturday, March 3 at The Martin E. From Dec. 6 though 23, Strike up the band because the holidays are alive and thriving at The Players Centre for Performing Arts, in their production of The 1940's Radio Hour. With a book by Walton Jones, based on an idea by Walton Jones and Carol Lees, this patriotic holiday tale will give audiences a dose of nostalgic Christmas cheer. The Players production will have that big band sound you love with a 16-piece orchestra! Students from Pine View School, under the direction of Vic Mongillo, will volunteer their time and talents along with professional musicians to create that classic sound.
