Bang on a Can celebrates summer 2017, and continues its 30th anniversary landmark season, by showcasing the breadth of its adventurous curatorial vision with concerts June-September at three visual art institutions -The Noguchi Museum and the Jewish Museum in New York City, and the Bang on a Can Summer Music Festival at MASS MoCA in North Adams, MA - plus a performance by the Bang on a Can All-Stars at the Lincoln Center Festival.

Playhouse Producing Artistic Director Chuck Tobin today announced the June 20 opening of Saint Michael's Playhouse for the company's 70th season of live professional theater with a line-up of shows that include area premieres and a Pulitzer-prize winning American comedy classic, all part of what Yankee Magazine hails as "The Best of New England." 

Drew Cohen, President of Music Theatre International (MTI), announced today that MTI will represent the secondary stage performance rights to five musicals by the legendary writing team of Lerner & Loewe, including their masterpiece My Fair Lady, the beloved classics Camelot, Brigadoon and Paint Your Wagon, and their newly-restored early work, The Day Before Spring.   MTI, from June 1, will begin representing My Fair Lady in the US, the UK, and all English-language territories, and will represent the four other titles on a worldwide basis. Latin jazz flute maestro, Nestor Torres took to The Lyric stage, Friday, March 31st, along with 20 student musicians to deliver a 3-hour knockout performance that brought the audience to its feet in thunderous applause. The concert event was the culmination of a intensive master class, presented by The Lyric Theatre and The Arts Council of Martin County, in which the Grammy-winner worked tirelessly with the instrumentalists over a period of 4 days. For nearly all of the musicians, this was their first exposure to Latin music, posing a myriad of challenges, most particularly in relation to rhythms. Mr. Torres presented the students with a daunting selection of music that they have never seen or heard before.  Astoundingly, in less than a week's time, these students rose to the challenge and accompanied Mr. Torres for the duration of his show 'Havana & Buenos Aires', with the help of only a handful of professional musicians.

After five UK tours the original British musical, Miss Nightingale by Matthew Bugg, finally enjoys an extended London run six years after a small-scale production of the show was first seen in the capital. Miss Nightingale the musical transfers to The Vaults for an eight-week residency from 30 March to 20 May.

MY FAIR LADY, which will be directed by Bartlett Sher, will begin previews Thursday, March 22, 2018 and open on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street).
