Flying Over Sunset is officially in previews on Broadway! The musical, with book and direction by James Lapine, music by Tom Kitt, and lyrics by Michael Korie, and choreography by Michelle Dorrance will open Thursday, April 16.

The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center (CMS) today announces the details of its 2020-21 season. Titled Bridging the Ages, Co-Artistic Directors David Finckel and Wu Han look to the work of Franz Schubert a?" whose music is the subject of CMS's Winter Festival a?" as the inspiration for the season. Schubert was the bridge from the Classical to Romantic age, connecting musical ideas between eras. Taken as a whole, the season will show how compositions from the earliest years of the chamber music repertory link to compositions in the middle and later years of the genre, leading to a dynamic musical presentation that encourages audiences to imagine the compositional voices of the future. The new season will also expand CMS's commitment to free digital access to chamber music through a new partnership with Tencent for the Chinese-language audience.

The renowned graduate performing company Ballet Central will commence its annual tour at Stratford Circus in London, on Thursday 26th March 2020. Under the artistic direction of Christopher Marney, Ballet Central's diverse range of dance and theatre will perform in 13 venues across England over a five month period (full tour schedule at the end of the release) concluding in London on 18th July.

Erik Lee Preminger, the son of legendary burlesque performer Gypsy Rose Lee (whose 1957 memoirs inspired the classic musical GYPSY) and film director Otto Preminger, will appear in-person at Naples's Theatrezone on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 to present his one-man show about his famous mother (featuring rare home movies, television shows, newsreel footage, a question-and-answer session, and more). Local boy does good. That has been the success story of Buffalo born playwright Tom Dudzick. His play OVER THE TAVERN that premiered at the old Studio Arena Theatre in 2006 has become a hot  commodity, being produced by multiple theatres across the United States. It went on to become a trilogy and has been a favorite amongst Buffalo audiences ever since. Alas, his latest venture, the musical CHRISTMAS OVER THE TAVERN does not appear to be destined for a similar destiny.

On November 7, Tina: The Tina Turner Musical celebrated opening night at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, and following in the great Broadway tradition, ensemble member Katie Webber was awarded the Legacy Robe from Moulin Rouge recipient Bahiyah Hibah.

This holiday season, ABC once again airs the PEANUTS Christmas special “I Want a Dog for Christmas, Charlie Brown,” produced and animated by the same team that gave us the other, now classic cartoon specials based on Charles M. Schulz's famed comic strip. “I Want a Dog for Christmas, Charlie Brown” airs SUNDAY, DEC. 22 (7:00-8:00 p.m. EST), on ABC.

Amazon has announced that Anika Noni Rose, Brooke Smith, P.J. Byrne, Malcolm Mays, Jeremiah Birkett and Sophie Guest will recur opposite Deborah Ayorinde and Ashley Thomas in their new anthology series Them, according to Deadline.

The National Theatre has announced its upcoming lineup for December 2019 - June 2020.

Will Ferrell will return to Studio 8H for his fifth appearance as host on Nov. 23. Ferrell was a member of the “SNL” cast from 1995-2002.
