Little Angel Theatre is delighted to present Junk, a brand new, immersive theatre adventure. Every day, under our very eyes, in rubbish bins and recycling boxes across the country, something strange and exciting is happening.

Working intimately with directors like Yasujiro Ozu, Akira Kurosawa, Kenji Mizoguchi and Kon Ichikawa on some of their most important films, Kazuo Miyagawa (1908-99) pushed Japanese cinema to its highest artistic peaks through his lyrical, innovative, and technically flawless camerawork. Considered the greatest cinematographer of postwar Japanese cinema whose career endured through the 1990s, Miyagawa has influenced generations of leading filmmakers around the world.

Six Degrees Records announced today the release of Yiddish Glory: The Lost Songs from World War II, a new recording featuring Jewish songs created during the darkest chapter of European Jewish history that have never been performed before featuring Yiddish songwriters who died in the war.

Performing the best of Ireland's musical traditions with a modern twist, international sensation The Young Irelanders will whisk audiences away this coming March 3rd and 4th for three performances only at the Flat Rock Playhouse Mainstage. Eight young musicians, vocalists, and dancers will dazzle and inspire audiences as they bring a unique mix of tradition and contemporary style to life right before your eyes. Little Angel Theatre Presents THE SINGING MERMAID, written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Lydia Monks, in collaboration with Royal & Derngate this spring. One day, the singing mermaid is tempted away from all of her sea creature friends and her peaceful home at Silversands to join a travelling circus. The audiences love to hear her sing, but the poor mermaid was tricked! Instead of the swimming pool she was promised, she is kept in a small tank by the wicked circus master Sam Sly, and she soon longs to return to the freedom of the sea.

La MaMa Experimental Theater Club is thrilled to announce that its one-night-only anniversary performance of Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Yusef Komunyakaa and Global Soul Music creator Tom s Doncker's 2007 collaboration, The Mercy Suite, will feature performances by acclaimed actor Khalil Kain ( Girlfriends ) and playwright Ise Lyfe. In addition to Mr. Kain and Mr. Lyfe, who are currently working together on the Off-Broadway debut of Lyfe's new play Agnus, the evening will feature performances by select cast members of The Pill by Marla Mase, which features original music by Mr. Doncker.

In late 2007, Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Yusef Komunyakaa came together with his close friend, no wave guitar hero and Global Soul Music creator Tom s Doncker, to create an original musical masterpiece titled The Mercy Suite. In celebration of the work's 10th Anniversary, La MaMa Experimental Theater Club will present a one-night-only presentation of The Mercy Suite at the Ellen Stewart Theatre (66 East 4th Street, second floor) on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 7:00pm.

A friendly reminder that Roundabout Theatre Company will conclude its critically acclaimed New York premiere of Too Heavy for Your Pocket by Jir h Breon Holder, directed by Margot Bordelon, after extending its initial limited run. The extension week will include three special performances reserved for NYC public school students from schools affiliated with Roundabout's expansive education program.
