In 2006, hot from her seven-year stint as head writer at Saturday Night Live, Tina Fey made her first appearance as Liz Lemon on televisions across the country on 30 Rock. Reminiscent of Fey's previous television show, Lemon was the head writer and creator of the sketch comedy show The Girlie Show, later shortened to TGS. She tries to “have it all” and throughout the seven seasons and 138 episodes of 30 Rock, she eventually does find fulfillment in both her familial, friend and work relationships – but not with trials and tribulations.

The Colorado Music Festival (CMF) in Boulder, Colorado, isn't broadly known outside the state, but it should be. This summer, under the leadership of the recently arrived Music Director Peter Oundjian, the Festival will actually present more 21st-century pieces (16, including two world premieres) than works by Beethoven (13). That reflects Oundjian's commitment to presenting the work of living composers as well as music by masters of the canon. This is the first year of the Festival's five-year commitment to commissioning new works and presenting them in Boulder.

The Muny announced today the directors, choreographers and music directors for its 2020 season, which opens June 15 with Kander and Ebb's internationally-acclaimed Chicago. Stage Entertainment has announced the appointment of James Triner as International Executive Producer and Jamie Wolpert as Head of International Development. The appointments reflect the ambition of Stage Entertainment's international creative development and production teams.

On Friday, August 30, the theatre community lost dramaturg Robert Blacker, who passed away suddenly at the age of 71. Longtime collaborator Des McAnuff, who worked with Blacker at La Jolla Playhouse and Stratford Shakespeare Festival, writes a tribute to his friend below:
