Countertenor John Holiday announced his debut album, Over My Head, on PENTATONE, blending spirituals, art song, and world premiere recordings by Theo Morrison and Carlos Simon, with pianist Kevin Miller.

The Magic Theatre, in partnership with Resident Company Play On Shakespeare, will present the World Premiere production of Macbeth, a new version written by Migdalia Cruz and directed by Liam Vincent. 

“Elvis and Elton Together” rates a big five stars.  Victor Trevino Jr. as Elvis is back and is as good as ever. Sean McGibbben becomes the incredible Elton John.   Victor and Sean wisely introduce themselves as tribute artists rather than impersonators.

BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that stage and screen actress Dame Maggie Smith has died at age 89. Perhaps best known for her screen roles in the Harry Potter film series and Downton Abbey, Smith also had several stage credits to her name, and won a Tony Award in 1990.

Initial casting has been announced for the Broadway production of the acclaimed musical TAMMY FAYE. Two-time Olivier Award winner Katie Brayben will recreate her Olivier Award-winning performance as Tammy Faye Bakker, and Tony Award nominee Andrew Rannells will reprise his Olivier-nominated performance as Jim Bakker. TAMMY FAYE will begin preview performances on October 19th and will officially open on November 14th, 2024 at Broadway's Palace Theater. 

Al Pacino is set to release a memoir, titled Sonny Boy, this October.  The memoir, published by Penguin Press, will detail the actor's career as well as his early life growing up in the Bronx.

Michael Butler, famed producer of the musical Hair: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical, passed peacefully November 7, 2022 at the Los Angeles Jewish Home for the Aging in Reseda, CA.  He was born November 26, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois.
