The Next Stage Theatre Festival, run by the Toronto Fringe, is pleased to announce the line-up for the 2020 festival. Programmed by a jury of industry leaders and Fringe staff, the festival features 11 visionary shows, ranging from staged readings to fully realized productions. The 2020 Next Stage Theatre Festival runs January 8 a?" 19, 2020 at Factory Theatre and, new this year, some shows will be presented a?oein development.a?? This means different things to different companies: some will seek feedback from the audience via talkbacks and post-show conversations, while some will experiment with form. More details about the developmental status of each show will be available in the Next Stage 2020 brochure, out this fall.

The Kennedy Center hosts its 14th annual Page-to-Stage new play festival from Today, September 5 to Monday, September 7, 2015, featuring more than 50 theaters from the D.C. metropolitan area, all with a mission to produce and support new work. The 14th Annual Page-to-Stage event showcases more than 40 new plays by female playwrights and includes nine works that are part of the citywide Women's Voices Theater Festival, which officially begins on September 8.

One family spans three generations and three continents in search of lands of opportunity as Anthony Clarvoe's Elliott Norton Award winning (Best New Play) Ambition Facing West makes its Michigan Premiere at Puzzle Piece Theatre. This small company created by students and Peggy Mecham, started as the official theatre company of Community College of Philadelphia and is now delighted to be the resident theatre company of Plays ad Players Theatre. Once More Theatre has produced some of the most unusual and forgotten theatrical works to great critical success, including The Gas Heart, R.U.R., Everyman, Plutus, The Insect Play and Pigs among others. The OMT mission is to produce performances, both on stage and on film, that invite audiences to investigate rarely explored and original works. The company focuses on fostering young actors from diverse backgrounds and building an ensemble ready to tackle some of the most challenging plays that exist.
