Private Lives opened at the 46th Street Theatre (now the Richard Rogers Theatre), where it ran for 92 performances. Private Lives is a 1930 comedy of manners in three acts by Noël Coward. It focuses on a divorced couple who discover that they are honeymooning with their new spouses in neighbouring rooms at the same hotel. Despite a perpetually stormy relationship, they realise that they still have feelings for each other. Its second act love scene was nearly censored in Britain as too risqué. Coward wrote one of his most popular songs, "Some Day I'll Find You", for the play.

Photo Coverage: First Look at Ohio University Lancaster Theatre's Ken Ludwig's Moon Over Buffalo
by Jerri Shafer - Oct 30, 2017

In the madcap comedy tradition of Lend Me a Tenor, the hilarious Moon Over Buffalo centers on George and Charlotte Hay, fading stars of the 1950s. At the moment, they are playing Private Lives and Cyrano De Bergerac in rep in Buffalo, New York with five actors. On the brink of a disastrous split-up caused by George's dalliance with a young ing nue, they receive word that they might just have one last shot at stardom: Frank Capra is coming to town to see their matinee, and if he likes what he sees, he might cast them in his movie remake of The Scarlet Pimpernel. Unfortunately for George and Charlotte, everything that could go wrong does go wrong, abetted by a visit from their daughter's clueless fianc and hilarious uncertainty about which play they are actually performing, caused by Charlotte's deaf, old stage-manager mother who hates every bone in George's body. Performances for the Moon Over Buffalo are November 1, 2, 3, 4, at 7:00 pm., and November 5 at 2:00 pm. For tickets: (740) 681-3353 or online at: https://commerce.cashnet.com/oul-theatre. A DOLL'S HOUSE Opens At Classic Theatre!
by BWW News Desk - Oct 23, 2017

Set in 1950's America with a Mad Men flair, The Classic Theatre's production of A Doll's House written by Henrik Ibsen in 1879, is the modern tragedy that changed theatre forever. It opened the door to realism. So explosive was the message, that a marriage was not sacrosanct, that a man's authority in his home should not go unchallenged, and that the prime duty of anyone was to find out who he or she really is and to become that person, that the play shocked audiences then and still resonates with them today. Sometimes the perfectly presented family and home are not what they seem Sometimes finding your home means finding yourself first. (more...)
