The Cathedral of St. John the Divine's Great Music in a Great Space concert series presents a performance by Organ Scholar Samuel Kuffuor-Afriyie, Minster of Music at The Brick Presbyterian Church Raymond Nagem, violinist Monica Davis, and Ensemble 1047 Dance Collective—featuring Chase Buntrock, Runako Campbell, Mio Ishikawa, and Kevin Pajarillaga—on Tuesday, April 26 at 7:30pm at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, 1047 Amsterdam Avenue (at 112th Street).

We're off to see the wizard.... that is the wizards in Conway who have built up this fantastic program for the youth in their community. Since COVID has loosened its grip on the theatre world, The Red Curtain Theatre has been filling up their roster in minutes of posting signups for whatever workshop they are working on, this newest one being THE WIZARD OF OZ: YOUTH ADDITION. Musicals at Richter (MAR), celebrating its 38th season as the longest-running outdoor theater in Connecticut, has announced 2022 season auditions for its upcoming productions of 'In the Heights' and 'The Sound of Music.' Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Broadway's punk rock/musical theatre lovechild is on-stage at Olney Theatre Center. Following the story of an Cold War German performer with a botched sex change, Hedwig takes us through her tumultous and colorful life accompanied by energetic performances and the occasiocal standup routine.

Returning to lead the cast are Shereen Ahmed as Eliza Doolittle, Laird Mackintosh as Professor Henry Higgins, Leslie Alexander as Mrs. Higgins, Adam Grupper as Alfred P. Doolittle, Kevin Pariseau as Colonel Pickering, Gayton Scott as Mrs. Pearce, and Sam Simahk as Freddy Eynsford-Hill.

Revolutionary punk-rock sensation Hedwig and the Angry Inch is coming to Olney Theatre Center this winter (November 26, 2021 to January 2, 2022) starring Mason Alexander Park, who earned a Helen Hayes Award for Best Leading Performer in a Musical for their role as the Emcee in Olney’s 2019 production of Cabaret. 

Contra Costa Civic Theatre (CCCT) will return to live, in-person Main Stage productions this fall with one of the giants of the American theatre, Thornton Wilder’s Our Town. Directed by CCCT’s Executive Artistic Director Marilyn Langbehn, and featuring a diverse ensemble of eight actors who portray the 25-plus citizens of Grover’s Corners, Our Town will play for 15 performances from October 1-31.

The Chicago and Evanston performances also will be available via livestream.
