A highly lauded production by Aaron Sorkin was and still is playing on the Great White way, and for questionable reasons, Buffalo was forced to shut down the Lee play. Happily, this season the Kav received the go ahead to produce Sorkin's version, and like a phoenix, TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD has risen in a gripping and superbly acted production.

La Jolla Playhouse announces the cast and creative team for its upcoming presentation of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival production of Cambodian Rock Band, by UC San Diego MFA Playwriting alumna Lauren Yee, directed by Chay Yew, featuring music by Dengue Fever. Bernard Slade, (born Bernard Slade Newbound), the Canadian/American writer best known for his Broadway play SAME TIME, NEXT YEAR  and the TV series THE PARTRIDGE FAMILY, has died.  He passed away peacefully at home early this morning (October 30) in Beverly Hills from complications of Lewy Body Dementia. He was 89.

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival today announced it has entered into a 25-year lease on a new housing development two blocks from its main theatre campus in downtown Ashland. According to the director and members of the cast of Adobe Theatre's production of Shakespeare in Hollywood, it has been a labor of love bringing the show to the stage; a wonderful experience where the cast had a great time getting to know one another and become friends, as well as a chance for the audience to leave the theatre with a more interest in Shakespeare and the history surrounding the 1935 movie of A Midsummer Night's Dream.
