The Good Liar is a 2019 American crime thriller film directed and produced by Bill Condon and written by Jeffrey Hatcher, based on the novel of the same name by Nicholas Searle. It stars Ian McKellen as a career con-artist who meets a wealthy widow (Helen Mirren) online, and begins to plan how to steal her fortune.

'I've had several Japanese people come up to me before and say, 'This is our story.' They were an older married couple, and I thought, 'Oh? This is a New York story, why do you say that?' And they said, 'Because, back in the late 50s early 60s, our villages were feuding, and they wouldn't allow us to marry. So there was this tension, but seeing the movie in 1961 made us say, 'Let's do it!' And we eloped.'

Deadline reports that upcoming thriller 'Broadcast Signal Intrusion' has cast its leads: Harry Shum Jr. and Chris Sullivan.

Actor-singer-dancer-choreographer Adam Fleming became a part of Broadway history originating the roles of Sketch in Hairspray and Lucas in Bare. In 2005, he starred in David Brind and Adam Salky's acclaimed short film, Dare, about two teenage boys' tense, spark-filled encounter in a pool following high school play practice. Dare gained a cult following as part of Strand Releasing's 'Boys Life' series and ultimately achieved worldwide popularity via more than 12 Million views on Youtube. The fan fervor (and fan fiction!) eventually inspired a sequel, ten years later. The original and the sequel are now being presented together as The Dare Project and attracting new legions of fans.

Two River Theater (TRT) has launched its 2019/20 Season with 'Cyrano' by Jason O'Connell and Brenda Withers, adapted from the play Cyrano de Bergerac by Edmond Rostand, directed by Meredith McDonough in a co-production with Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival. There is a version of me that loves this movie. She's about 14 years old. She's grooving to the hypnotic rhythms of “PoP! Goes My Heart,” and she's super charmed by Hugh Grant, and she, like Drew Barrymore, is a young writer looking anywhere for her big break. The original Broadway cast recording of Moulin Rouge! The Musical is now available on all digital and streaming providers on via Baz Luhrmann's label, House of Iona, and RCA Records. A physical edition of the album will be made available at a later date.

The Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival (FLMTF) opens its third production this season, Rodgers and Hammerstein's legendary musical, South Pacific. The show runs August 7 through August 28 at the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse in Emerson Park.

Rising multi-instrumental virtuoso, songwriter and producer Nate Mercereau unveils the video for “Righteous Energy” today via Mxdwn.
