BWW Review: Group Rep Presents Rare View of THE CHINESE WALL
by Don Grigware - Jan 29, 2018

The Chinese Wall/by Max Frisch/translated by James L. Rosenberg/Group Rep at the Lonny Chapman Theatre, NoHo/directed by Larry Eisenberg/through March 11 Suffice to say, The Chinese Wall by Max Frisch, written in 1946, after Hitler and World War II, is a cluttered play about facism and those who revolt against it. Its message is repetitious, and the play goes on much too long, but Group Rep's vibrantly colorful production boasts a wonderful cast of 20 actors under the superb direction of Larry Eisenberg through March 11. BWW Review: ANIMAL FARM Makes for Relevant, but Rocky Theater at the Milwaukee Rep
by Kelsey Lawler - Jan 17, 2018

Bleak. Cold. Apocalyptic. Even before the house lights dimmed, the mood was already dreary. The stage is laden with a mess of concrete, metal, and a visual manifestation of shattered dreams for what would be a rather brain-wrenching, hope-dashing 90 minutes. Of course, that's just what Orwell's novel is meant to convey. (more...)

BWW Review: A 'PAWSITIVELY' ADORABLE PERFORMANCE OF THE ARISTOCATS KIDS at Straz Performing Arts Center' TECO Theatre
by Deborah Bostock-Kelley - Feb 16, 2018

I was told by director Sarah Berland that the 26 young actors starring in The Aristocats KIDS did not want to put on a kids' show, rather a professional performance that had child actors. After seeing opening night's performance, I will go one step further than that - these are 26 mini-adults masquerading in the bodies of actors that just happen to be no older than 10. (more...)
