The two will take the stage together for the first time ever during a special, open-to-the-public taping of a?oeCMT Crossroadsa?? at the Ascend Amphitheater in downtown Nashville on Friday, October 11. a??a??a??a??a??a??a??The Ailey School, now celebrating its 50th anniversary, was selected to perform in the 2019 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.  Over 100 students from all programs of The Ailey School will answer the call of a?oeLet's Have a Parade,a?? the iconic phrase that has signaled the start of every Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade since 1924.  Led by The Ailey School Co-Director Tracy Inman, the dancers from age seven to 25 will perform a dance inspired by the a?oeRocka My Soula?? finale of Alvin Ailey's American masterpiece Revelations.

York, hailed as “an ingenious, radical, extravagant talent” by The New Yorker and “singer-songwriter-truthteller” by The Village Voice, was renowned for her soulful voice and hypnotic stage presence, in addition to her original songs and thought-provoking musical juxtapositions of contemporary jazz and pop music. Swoon, which features artwork by Nora's husband and artistic collaborator Jerry Kearns, will be available on all digital and streaming platforms, and on CD from CD Baby. A tribute concert will be held at Joe's Pub at The Public Theater, on Monday, October 7 at 7:00 PM.

The National Theatre has announced 15 productions of new plays and fresh adaptations by leading writers.

Theater On The Edge is extending its run of THE GOAT OR, WHO IS SYLVIA?, by Edward Albee, through Saturday, June 15th. The dark absurdist dramedy stars theater ensemble members Allan Whitehead and Adam Minossora alongside TOTE alum Mark Anthony Kelly and newcomer Merritt Greene. Directed by Marco DiGeorge, THE GOAT has been receiving glowing reviews and has sold out its initial run of the show, prompting a need for additional performances.

Matthew Morrison and Shoshana been lit up the stage at the Strathmore's Annual Spring Gala in North Bethesda on Saturday. The evening started out with Shoshana Bean's jazz set which perfectly showcased her incredible voice. Bean's set included many songs from her 2018 album 'Spectrum' which she expressed was an album that was rooted in and inspired by music from her childhood. Bean opened her set with a song from this album entitled 'Remember the Day' - an electrifying jazz song which showcased Bean's exquisite voice and personality. She had the audience in the palm of her hand from the first note. Bean continued with songs from 'Spectrum' including 'I Wanna Be Around' and 'Strange Thunder.' Bean introduced her music director and producer David Cook who was on piano, and exclaimed to Cook that 'you're one of my favorite people to make music with.' The Bean and Cook pair made some exceptional music which resonated gracefully, throughout the beautiful Strathmore music hall.

Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts announced today that Broadway, film, and television star Rosie O'Donnell will play Mrs. Paroo in the Broadway Center Stage production of Meredith Willson's The Music Man. O'Donnell joins Tony Award® nominee Norm Lewis (Porgy and Bess) as Harold Hill and Tony Award®–winning actress Jessie Mueller (Waitress, Carousel, Beautiful) as Marian Paroo in the starry semi-staged concert production directed by Marc Bruni (Beautiful, Broadway Center Stage: How to Succeed…) with choreography by Chris Bailey (Jerry Springer: The Opera, The New Yorkers at Encores!) and music direction by James Moore (Miss Saigon, the Kennedy Center's Follies and Ragtime).

The 92nd St. Y's Dig Dance will present AILEEN PASSLOFF, Stepping Foward: One Foot (in front of the other), a program of dances by Aileen Passloff, noted choreographer, dancer, director, actor and teacher, along with rarely seen works, reconstructed by Passloff, of James Waring and Remy Charlip, Thursday January 11 at 8 PM and Sunday January 13 at 3 PM.. Passloff will present dances choreographed in the early 1960s, when she was one of the pioneers of the early Judson Church modern dance scene, to new works receiving their world premieres. Pianists Doug Schultz, Michael Scales and Michael Cherry, and guitarist Arturo Martinez, will accompany most of the dances and provide short musical interludes during the performance.
