The Stratford Festival is overcome with grief at the death of Martha Henry, just 12 days after her final tour-de-force performance in Edward Albee’s Three Tall Women. The grief of her colleagues is matched only by their gratitude for her unparalleled contributions to Canadian theatre.

Fall has arrived and chilly weather means lots of time to snuggle under your favorite blanket with a great book. You're in luck, because this year, Broadway's best have put pen to paper to turn out theatre page-turners of every kind.

Four new shows have just been announced at Playhouse Square. Events include: An Evening with Anne Lamott, An Evening with Fran Lebowitz, An Evening with David Sedaris, and An Evening with Neil Gaiman.

To quote my students, “This show is ridiculous, and we laughed so hard.” Like a farce on speed, DISASTER! is like riding a freight train over rough terrain, hanging on for dear life until the engineer finally puts on the brakes. This show is so nutritionally dense, you will want to consume it more than once. No laugh is unmined here. Every beat is crammed with hilarity. If you don’t laugh when you see this show, you need to have your humorous attended to.

Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra's 2021-22 Season, announced today by Music Director Jaime Martín and Executive Director Ben Cadwallader, celebrates the Orchestra's full return to the concert hall since the global pandemic shuttered live performances more than a year and a half ago.

The York Theatre Company will honor musical theater legends Richard Maltby, Jr. & David Shire (Baby, Big, Starting Here, Starting Now, Closer Than Ever) with the 2021 Oscar Hammerstein Award for Lifetime Achievement in Musical Theater and Elisa Loti Stein with The York Theatre Company Founders’ Award at the 29th Oscar Hammerstein Award Gala.

The Philly POPS announced today that tickets for the 2021–2022 Lights Up! Showtime! season are on sale now. The POPS will celebrate this new season will a free public performance, Dancin' in Dilworth with The Philly POPS little BIG Band, on August 4, from 5:30–7:00 p.m. at Dilworth Park.

Patrons are invited to take a seat in the classroom of an opera legend this fall, as Lyric returns to the Myriad Botanical Gardens Water Stage to present the Tony Award-winning play Master Class. Performances are slated September 15 through October 3.

The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra has announced that Louis Langrée will  not seek to renew his contract beyond the conclusion of the 2023-24 season, his eleventh as the Orchestra's Music Director.

Stewart Copeland's Police Deranged for Orchestra is a high-energy orchestral celebration of legendary rock star and composer Stewart Copeland and his career as the founder of one rock's most beloved bands, The Police.

He has been nominated for an Academy Award, two Emmy Awards, an MTV Movie Award for Best Villain, and a Golden Globe Award. Some of Beatty's most notable films included Deliverance (1972), Network (1976), Friendly Fire (1979), Hear My Song (1991), and Toy Story 3 (2010).

For only four performances the past two weekends, the Châtelet in Paris was alive again with the sound of musicals we’ve been missing so much here. Boasting 2300 performances, and no less than four revivals on Broadway, Man of La Mancha ranks among the most performed musicals around the world. The book is by Dale Wasserman, based on his own teleplay on the fictional life of Don Quixote and that of his creator Cervantes, a very melodic score by Mitch Leigh, his first musical effort and his only big success, and lyrics by Joe Darion, which gave us at least two standards, the title song and “The Impossible Dream”, the latter recorded not only by Jacques Brel but by Johnny Halliday and Julien Clerc.

It was just announced by the Pulitzer Prize organization that Katori Hall's The Hot Wing King has officially won the 2021 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. This year's finalists included Circle Jerk by Michael Breslin and Patrick Foley and Stew by Zora Howard.

MultiStages will present 'SPEAKOUT: Protest Plays & More,' a virtual festival of multidisciplinary commissioned works, live on June 21 and recorded from June 22 to 25. Conceived and directed by Artistic Director/activist Lorca Peress, the program is a 90 minute turntable of short plays, dance works and poetry exploring the essence of protest and activism in the modern period since the killing of George Floyd.
