What did our critic think of GYPSY: A MUSICAL FABLE at Music Theatre Wichita At Century II Concert Hall? There is a reason the musical Gypsy: A Musical Fable is a Golden Age classic. The text, suggested by the memoirs of Gypsy Rose Lee and written by Authur Laurents, is economical and succinct. Jule Styne’s music varies from catchy tunes to lush, foreboding orchestral maneuvers, and Sondheim’s nascent lyrics are simple and accessible, yet cut to the core of each scene’s objective.

Atlantic Theater Company (Neil Pepe, Artistic Director; Jeffory Lawson, Managing Director) has announced an extension for the world premiere musical Cornelia Street. The production, which will begin performances this Friday, January 20th and open on Tuesday, February 14th, will now play through Sunday, March 5th, Off-Broadway at Atlantic Stage 2.

Shudder, AMC Networks' premium streaming service for horror, thriller and the supernatural, today announced additional names for its upcoming Creepshow anthology series. Joining the cast are acclaimed actors David Arquette (Scream franchise), Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica, Lucifer) and Dana Gould (The Simpsons, Stan Against Evil). Shudder also revealed the three new Creepshow stories in which they will appear, and announced Tom Savini (Dawn of the Dead, 1990's Night of the Living Dead) as the director Joe Hill's 'By the Silver Water of Lake Champlain' (adapted by Jason Ciaramella), marking Savini's return to the beloved franchise.

Craft Recordings is pleased to announce a special reissue of Social Distortion's Live at the Roxy. Due out on June 29th - almost 20 years to the day of the album's original release date - the first (and only) live album from the rock 'n' roll icons, comprises a double-LP set and features a replica of the rare poster that came with the original 1998 pressing (featuring frontman Mike Ness on stage). The set includes such favorites as 'Bad Luck,' 'Mommy's Little Monster' and a cover of Johnny Cash's 'Ring of Fire.' Typical of Social Distortion's reputation, the band performs with a fierce energy onstage and Live at the Roxy captures this intensity.
