Obie Award winner Metropolitan Playhouse brings Robert Ardrey's documentary play to the stage for its first New York revival.  The limited run, closing December 9, 2018, plays at the Playhouse home at 220 E 4th Street.  Alex Roe directs.

THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW – NOW IN LIVING COLOR!, a new one-hour special with two newly colorized back-to-back classic episodes of the beloved 1960s series, will be broadcast Friday, Dec. 14 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Series creator and co-star Carl Reiner personally selected the two episodes to showcase his favorite episodes featuring Dick Van Dyke.

The Stratford Festival lost one of its pioneers today. Douglas Rain died of natural causes early this morning at the age of 90 at St. Marys Memorial Hospital, just outside of Stratford, Ontario, the city in which he established his career, becoming one of the world's great classical actors.

The Country Music Association has selected rising stars Kassi Ashton, Travis Denning and Jameson Rodgers as recipients of the first-ever CMA KixStart Artist Scholarship. Orchestra of St. Luke's (OSL) today announced a new initiative, a three-week, multi-disciplinary Bach Festival featuring 15 concerts across three venues in Manhattan, June 6-22, 2019. The programmatic centerpieces include performances by Paul Taylor Dance Company and the Goldberg Variations, which receives two interpretations - including the U.S. premiere of Bernard Labadie's orchestral setting - and provides the Festival theme: 'Transformation.'

The Rose Art Museum has named Brooklyn-based, Boston-born artist Tuesday Smillie as the recipient of the 2018-2019 Ruth Ann and Nathan Perlmutter Artist-in-Residence Award. In conjunction with her Perlmutter residency, the Rose will host Smillie's first solo museum exhibition. Organized by Assistant Curator Caitlin Julia Rubin, Tuesday Smillie: To build another world will be on view September 7 through December 2, 2018.

Disney has pushed the Steven Spielberg-directed Indiana Jones 5 to July 9, 2021 now that Spielberg's other project, a West Side Story reboot, is in pre-production, Deadline has reported.

Casting has been announced for the World Premiere of THE BABY DANCE: MIXED, a new adaptation by Emmy Award-winner JANE ANDERSON ("Olive Kitteridge") of her acclaimed 2004 play The Baby Dance. A drama delicately laced with comic overtones, THE BABY DANCE: MIXED is a compelling and urgent play about race, class, and wanting the perfect child. In the story, Regina and Richard, an affluent mixed-race couple in Los Angeles, have everything except a baby. Wanda and Al, an African-American couple living in an overcrowded trailer in modern-day Louisiana, are too poor to keep their soon-to-be-born child. Through an adoption attorney, the two couples broker a deal. However, circumstances arise that affect their decision and the situation spins out of control. The Wall Street Journal described The Baby Dance as "filled with emotional power and nimble humor." The L.A. Times called it "a stunner…funny as well as perceptive."
