Patchogue Theatre To Launch Kids Summer Movie Series with MARY POPPINS

Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts is proud to present summer entertainment for the whole family with its new Kids Summer Movie series, co-presented with the award winning local online media outlet GreaterPatchogue.com. The series begins with Disney's "Mary Poppins" on July 11 at 2 p.m.Movies will be shown on Patchogue Theatre's big screen every Wednesday at 2 p.m., from July 11 through August 8.

Parents and their children will have the opportunity to relive the 1964 Disney classic "Mary Poppins" on the big screen before the highly anticipated sequel hits theaters this December."Mary Poppins" revolves around the Banks family as they hire a new nanny (Julie Andrews) who charms the family with her songs and magic. When the film was originally released, it was met with 5 Academy Awards and 13 nominations. In 2013, the Library of Congress selected Mary Poppins to be preserved in the United States National Film Registry. With beloved songs like "A Spoonful of Sugar" and "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious," Mary Poppins is a timeless classic for the whole family to enjoy together.

The Kids Summer Movie series will continue with children's favorites such as "The Parent Trap" (1961) on July 18, "Peter Pan" (2003) on July 25, "Snow White" (1937) on August 1, and concludes with "101 Dalmatians" (1961) on August 8.

Patchogue Theatre's new Kids Summer Movie series is a way for families to stay cool in the summer heat or avoid the rain. Tickets for the movies are $10 and will be sold at the door. The historic crown jewel of downtown Patchogue, Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts (PTPA), first opened in 1923 as the largest theatre in Suffolk County.
