Shattered Globe Theatre has announced the addition of six new Ensemble Members and six new Artistic Associates. Ensemble members include Demetra Dee, Tina M. Jach, Tina Muñoz Pandya, Hailey Rakowiecki, Jazzma Pryor and Devonte E. Washington. Artistic Associates include Mikey Gray, Lawrence Grimm, Jason Lynch, David Antonio Reed, Adam Schulmerich and Leslie Ann Sheppard.

Thomas James O'Leary directs a cast of Laura Esterman, Lee Guthrie, Mark Rosenthal and Jane MacIver. I was invited to attend Orpheus Musical Theatre's opening night performance of Falsettos at the Gladstone Theatre. Falsettos was originally performed on Broadway in 1992, where it was nominated for seven Tony Awards and won two. It was then revived to high acclaim in 2016, where it was nominated for five Tonys, including Best Revival of a Musical. The story is set in 1979, at a time when a family unit was deemed to consist of a man, a woman and one or more children. A wife was expected to keep the house clean, prepare meals and offer up sex whenever her husband wanted it. Anything outside of this traditional family unit would have been considered abnormal.

Shattered Globe Theatre announces its 2019-20 Season, featuring two Chicago premieres: BE HERE NOW by Deborah Zoe Laufer, directed by Producing Artistic Director Sandy Shinner* a?" a bittersweet comedy about searching for happiness; and SHEEPDOG by Kevin Artigue, directed by Wardell Julius Clark a?" a love story colliding with today's headlines; followed by WHEN THE RAIN STOPS FALLING by Andrew Bovell, directed by Elizabeth Margolius a?" a stunning mystery of love and loss that reverberates through four generations.

Overall, FALSETTOS makes a strong impression at Kennedy Center and is most definitely worth the trip.

StageArt announces the cast for the Victorian professional premiere of the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Falsettos, which will play at Prahran's Chapel off Chapel from 1 February.
