Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra unveiled its new Youth Music Education Institute this past Sunday, March 13 during an exclusive concert at Olympia Fields Country Club, and in the process, surprised longtime supporter Marilynn Tannebaum by dedicating the Institute in her honor.

Halestorm and specials guests Stone Temple Pilots, Black Stone Cherry, and Mammoth Wolfgang Van Halen are coming to the Ford Wyoming Center in Casper, WY on Wednesday, May 11th. Tickets for the show start at $39.50 plus applicable fees and are on sale Friday, March 4th at 10am.

La Jolla Playhouse has announced the first four productions of its 2022/2023 season. The season will also include a re-imagined classic to be co-directed by Tony Award winner Christopher Ashley, the Rich Family Artistic Director of La Jolla Playhouse, and Helen Hayes Award winner Will Davis, as well as a new musical.

Back on July 4, 1993, Matthew Sweet was recording a live album at Grant Park in Chicago. It was a beautiful sunny day and there was a cool breeze coming off Lake Michigan. My theater pals and I were sitting on blankets enjoying the weather and listening to Sweet, waiting to hear all of our favorites off his album Girlfriend. One of my theater pals was a boy who was my best friend.

After more than three decades leading creative operations for one of America’s largest theaters, Tony Award-winner Robert Falls is ending his tenure as Artistic Director of Goodman Theatre. Today, Falls announced his intention to step down next summer at the completion of the current 2021/2022 Season.

ELIZABETH IRELAND McCANN, the iconoclastic Broadway producer who won nine Tony Awards during a 60-year career in theater, died after a bout with cancer on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2021 at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx, according to her longtime associate and friend, Kristen Luciani.  She was 90 years old. 

Orlando's Suzanne O'Donnell stars as the story's narrator. A fixture in Central Florida's arts scene, the veteran actor has performed with Orlando Shakes since 1993, when she played Rosalind in As You Like It and Adriana in The Comedy of Errors. Since then, she has acted in numerous Shakespeare plays, while also giving life to characters in many new productions at Orlando Shakes.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley will resume in-person performances when it launches its previously announced 51st season, featuring eight plays and musicals presented October 2021 through August 2022, kicking off with the new indie folk-rock musical Lizard Boy.

For their 38th season at Undermain they are creating an exciting array of diverse performance opportunities to inspire and enrich our community and support artists in North Texas. They hope to be able to offer live performances in addition to the virtual streaming videos for each production. 

Last night, comedian Bill Maher received the Key to the Las Vegas Strip.  Clark County Commissioner Tick Segerblom presented him with the key following his show at the Terry Fator Theater at The Mirage Hotel and Casino.  Bill first performed in Las Vegas, opening for Diana Ross, in 1982 and has had a residency in the city for over a decade.
