Atlantic Theater Company has announced casting for the world premiere production of The Bedwetter, a new musical with a book by Drama Desk Award winner Joshua Harmon and Emmy Award winner Sarah Silverman, lyrics by Emmy Award winner Adam Schlesinger and Sarah Silverman.

Actress-singer Sally Kellerman, who achieved worldwide movie fame for her role as Margaret “Hot Lips” Houlihan in Robert Altman's classic 1970 film “M*A*S*H,” with Donald Sutherland and Elliott Gould, died early this morning (Feb. 24) in her sleep from heart failure at her home in Woodland Hills.  She was 84.  For her iconic role, she was nominated as “Best Supporting Actress” by both the Oscars and Golden Globes.  It was reported by her manager and publicist Alan Eichler.

 Fault Line Theatre will continue the 2022 Season of Irons in the  Fire, the organization’s reading series of new plays in development, with God Save the Queer by Zackary Grady, directed by Portia Krieger and featuring Michael Urie (George), Mallory Portnoy (Charlotte), Keshav Moodliar (Tariq), Seth Clayton (Louis), and Mary McCann (Kate).

Peter Andre will make his West End debut playing the role of Vince Fontaine at certain performances in a new production of Jim Jacobs & Warren Casey's iconic musical GREASE opening at the Dominion Theatre on Tuesday 17 May 2022, with previews from Tuesday 3 May 2022. GREASE is directed by Nikolai Foster and choreographed by Arlene Phillips.

Claire Harkess's outstanding new watercolour exhibition The Garden comes to The Scottish Gallery in March 2022.  Last seen at the gallery in their Modern Masters Women exhibition, she now explores the environment near her home and studio in Perthshire.  Having travelled worldwide in the past to capture wildlife and the changing landscape in watercolour, her current focus is the immediacy and intimacy of her garden and local landscape.

Having had to shut down the production of Bruce Norris' seminal play Clybourne Park at final dress rehearsal in March 2020, Trish Wadley Productions and David Adkin, in association with Park Theatre, have announced that the production, originally planned for the play's 10th anniversary year, will open at the venue in March.

From January 12 to 19, 2022, Theater for the New City will present the New Yiddish Rep production of 'Crazy Meshuge Hurricane Earthquake' by Amy Coleman, directed by David Mandelbaum.

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced the tenth annual Roundabout Underground Reading Series, a four-night event that includes nightly readings of new works written by emerging artists. The Reading Series will feature new works by Liz Appel, Noah Diaz, Daria Miyeko Marinelli and York Walker. The Roundabout Underground Reading Series is January 18 - 21, 2022 at 5:00PM at the Five Angels Theater (789 Tenth Avenue).

The phrase “No one is irreplaceable” was shattered this past week when composer/lyricist/GOD of American musical theatre Stephen Sondheim passed away at age 91. Simply put, Sondheim was unique, groundbreaking and a true original that many tried to copy and never could.

It has been announced that two-time Tony Award nominee Joshua Henry will take over the role of Dr. Pomatter in Waitress on Broadway, and current cast member Tyrone Davis, Jr. will take over the role of Ogie on Monday, November 29.

So what does a cabaret director do? Today in my ongoing series, THERE ARE NO ONE-PERSON SHOWS, we will find out from one of the busiest cabaret directors in New York, Marc Tumminelli. Marc is the founder of Broadway Workshop, which provides year-round, professional-level classes and workshops for kids 8-19 with some of the finest artists working on Broadway and in the West End. He is also the founder of Project Broadway, a non-profit that provides scholarship opportunities to young performers.

Broadwayworld had the pleasure of interviewing Philadelphia Theatre Company's Artistic Director, Paige Price about her career and the season ahead. Price is a native of New Jersey, having been raised in the Borough of Middlesex.
