Multi-platinum, four-time GRAMMY-nominated rock band Goo Goo Dolls revealed the second leg of their The Big Night Out Tour with special guests Fitz and The Tantrums. The newly announced dates will kick off this fall at The Cuthbert Amphitheater in Eugene, OR on September 12th, while O.A.R. will be special guests during the first leg this summer.

Undeniably compelling but also, at times, comfortably predictable, Aaron Sorkin's A FEW GOOD MEN is, for all intents and purposes, really a showcase for enthralling live acting performances.  In a historic move, Virginia Repertory Theatre has acquired the Scottish Rite Temple, which will become the new home for its Children’s Theatre. It will be known as the Virginia Rep Center for Arts and Education and will house children’s theatre productions, educational touring programs, camps, classes, and workshops.

What did our critic think of AIN'T NO MO' at Woolly Mammoth?Thanks to Barack Obama's presidency but, alas, because of Rachel Dolezal's wannabe caper, American drama requires some updated, Black-originated satire; Jordan E. Cooper obliges with Ain't No Mo', his 100 minute whupping of white privilege, supremacy, and presumptive cultural majority at Woolly Mammoth through October 9. Cooper follows the late Douglas Turner Ward and George C. Wolfe whose Day of Absence (1965) and The Colored Museum (1986) lampooned white dominance with comedy both uproarious and bitter, and so does this show. It's good to have the real, live, three-dimensional exchange that only theatre provides. No disrespect, Dear White People, Get Out, Sorry to Bother You, and the canon of Spike Lee.

Kids in the Rotunda, Madison's favorite family-friendly Saturday arts performance series, kicks off its 2022/23 season on Overture Center's Rotunda stage next month, starting with a returning favorite, Black Star Drum Line, on Saturday, Oct. 1.

Like many theatre fans, I'd been reading the raves she's been getting as Beanie Feldstein's standby, and since I doubted press would be offered comps during her run, I sprung for a ticket to see for myself.
