Rothko has just landed the biggest commission in the history of modern art at the time, but is struggling with his young, idealistic assistant, Ken, and his own inner demons. Ken's answers to the initial question result in more thought-provoking and probing questions, shedding light on the meaning of art, integrity and commercialism. The two artists explosively challenge each other, revealing their own fears, philosophies, visions and secrets.
