Jane's story begins in Gateshead, where she is in the unfortunate care of her cruel Aunt Sarah and cousin, John, as per her uncle's dying wish. The miserable young orphan is finally rescued when she is sent away to attend Lowood School for Girls. After six years, Jane leaves Lowood and is shortly after hired as a governess at Thornfield Hall. Here, she meets Mr. Edward Rochester, thus beginning her passionate and heart-wrenching journey of love, loss and the struggles of morality.

Just in time for Halloween, St. Dunstan's Theatre Guild is proud to present ZOM-BRIDE!, an original play written by Jake Zinke (West Bloomfield).  ZOM-BRIDE! is a parody of the 1943 film I Walked with a Zombie, which was loosely based on the novel Jane Eyre. ZOM-BRIDE! is full of physical comedy, sexual innuendo, voodoo dolls, magic, and, of course, zombies! The cast of characters is played by a troupe of four actors, most of whom play several different roles, often moments after one another. This is a fast-paced, madcap comedy with quick changes, mystery, and fake blood. The troupe of actors are played by Molly Dorset (Birmingham), Paul Dorset (Birmingham), Jeff Foust (West Bloomfield), and Jake Zinke (West Bloomfield).

The full cast and creative team has been announced for the world premiere of Pippi Longstocking, Royal & Derngate's 2019 Made in Northampton Christmas show. Pippi Longstocking is adapted for the stage in the UK for the first time by Mike Akers from Astrid Lindgren's much-loved books, 75 years after they were first written, following on from an initial script by the late John Miller. With original music by Stu Barker, this joyful new musical will be directed by The Wardrobe Ensemble's Jesse Jones and Helena Middleton who co-directed Education, Education, Education for Royal & Derngate in 2017. Design is by Katie Sykes, with Sally Ferguson as lighting designer and Dominic Bilkey as sound designer. An ensemble cast is led by Emily-Mae as Pippi.

Frantic Assembly today announced the full casting for I Think We Are Alone, a major new play by Sally Abbott (The Coroner, Vera), co-directed by Kathy Burke (Lady Windermere's Fan, The Retreat) and Scott Graham (Fatherland, Things I Know to be True).
