The San Francisco International Arts Festival (SFIAF) is pleased to reveal the full schedule of performances for the 2019 Festival that will run from May 23 - June 2 and have as a central theme The Path to Democracy. As the dark clouds of nationalism and fascism re-assert themselves on the global stage, SFIAF looks at some of the struggles for democracy past and present and how they manifest themselves in different cultures. The Festival will take place at, and in partnership with, the Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture.

Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Presents Prize to THE BOY WHO HARNESSED THE WIND

At a reception at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival today, the beneficiaries of $70,000 in grants from Sundance Institute and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation were revealed. Doron Weber, Sloan Vice President of Programs and Director of the Public Understanding of Science and Technology program, presented the Feature Film Prize to The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind and announced the new winners: Skye Emerson for Challenger and Gillian Weeks for The New Miracle (Sundance Institute | Sloan Commissioning Grant); Anthony Onah for Goliath (Sundance Institute | Sloan Lab Fellowship); and Neilkanth Dave and Zachary Parris for DELTA-V (Sundance Institute | Sloan Episodic Storytelling Grant). Chiwetel Ejiofor's The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind was formally presented with a $20,000 check for winning the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Feature Film Prize, as previously announced.

English Touring Theatre and Papatango today announce the full cast for the UK tour of Iman Qureshi's The Funeral Director, an exploration of a gay Muslim woman coming to terms with her identity. Hannah Hauer-King directs Edward Stone (Tom), Assad Zaman (Zeyd) and Francesca Zoutewelle (Janey), joining returning cast member Aryana Ramkhalawon (Ayesha). Winner of Papatango's 10th annual New Writing Prize from 1,384 entries, the original production was premiered by Papatango at Southwark Playhouse and now embarks on a UK tour in a co-production with ETT to Traverse Theatre, Nottingham Playhouse, The North Wall and HOME Manchester in Spring 2019.

American Football is excited to share the new single “Uncomfortably Numb (feat. Hayley Williams)”, from the forthcoming full-length album, American Football (LP3), out March 22nd on Polyvinyl Record Co. The song is available to stream everywhere now, and available to hear and watch via the Atiba Jefferson directed music video which features cameos from actor/comedian Blake Anderson (Workaholics), pro skater Paul Rodriguez, and Samhain drummer London May. The latest single from the group's third full-length album, “Uncomfortably Numb (feat.
