'EXTRA! EXTRA! Hey look at the headline!' Broadwaysted, the hilarious and boozy podcast where hosts Bryan Plofsky, Kevin Jaeger, and Kimberly Schmidt drink and play games with the stars of NYC Theatre, is excited to celebrate the release of their 100th episode this week! It has just been announced that stars Ana Gasteyer as ("Miss Hannigan') and Megan Hilty ("Lily St. Regis.") have joined the cast of the upcoming Hollywood Bowl production of ANNIE, which will take place Friday, July 27, at 8 pm, Saturday, July 28, at 8 pm, and Sunday, July 29, at 7:30 pm. 

New York Classical Theatre (Stephen Burdman, Artistic Director), New York City's only all-free professional Off-Broadway theatre company, is pleased to announce a new production of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet to celebrate its 19th Anniversary Season. The production, directed by Mr. Burdman, is the company's first staging of Shakespeare's tale of star-crossed lovers, and will be presented in five New York City parks - Central Park, Rockefeller Park/Battery Park City, The Battery, Carl Schurz Park and Brooklyn Bridge Park - with performances from June 5 through July 29 at 7:00 PM. There is no ticketing, and all performances are free and open to the public. New York Classical Theatre also invites audiences to experience unique behind-the-scenes access to open rehearsals on selected dates for each of the five park stagings. 

The Eisemann Center and the City of Richardson announced the 2018-2019 Season of Eisemann Center Presents (ECP) at the Annual Season Preview Party on Thursday, May 10, 2019. The season includes our two full subscription series: Jeffrey Siegel's Keyboard Conversations with a total of four concerts; and the Family Theatre Series with four productions and the accompanying immersive children's program Eisemann Extras. The Menier Chocolate Factory today announces full casting for the UK premiere of Jordi Galceran's The Gronholm Method. Making his UK directorial debut, BT McNicholl directs Jonathan Cake (Frank), Greg McHugh (Carl), Laura Pitt-Pulford (Melanie) and John Gordon Sinclair (Rick). The production opens on 22 May, with previews from 10 May, and runs until 7 July.

Single tickets are now on sale for the inaugural REPRISE 2.0 production of Sweet Charity. Directed and choreographed by Kathleen Marshall, the classic Broadway hit plays from June 20 to July 1 at UCLA's Freud Playhouse. REPRISE 2.0 is led by producing artistic director Marcia Seligson.

MTV today announced the categories and nominees for the 2018 'MTV Movie & TV Awards,' hosted by Tiffany Haddish, that celebrate the actors, stories and moments that drove pop culture in the last year. The show will once again feature non-gendered categories - a change that marked an industry-first historic shift. Airing on Monday, June 18 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT from the Barker Hangar in Los Angeles, additional categories and honors will be announced at a later date. Known across the world for her powerful voice and perfect pitch, Lea Salonga has been announced for the role of Grace Farrell in Hollywood Bowl's upcoming production of Annie, one of the longest-running shows in Broadway history, which will be this summer's annual staged musical at the Bowl.  

Nickelodeon is bringing back the original kids' game show Double Dare this summer with 40 brand-new episodes, giving a new generation of fans the chance to compete in the messiest and most physically challenging competition of their lives.  With Double Dare remaining an iconic touchstone for its original millennial audiences, the new version will feature the gameplay and challenges they remember, as well as appearances from blasts from the past and stars from today.

Casting is announced for two REPRISE 2.0 productions with two Tony Award leading actress nominees: Laura Bell Bundy (Legally Blonde - Tony Nomination, Hairspray, Anger Management) is to play Charity in Sweet Charity, directed and choreographed by three time Tony Award-winner Kathleen Marshall from June 20 to July 1, and Carmen Cusack (Bright Star - Tony Nomination, Wicked) is to play Victoria Grant in Victor/Victoria directed by Richard Israel and choreographed by John Todd from September 5 to 16 at UCLA's Freud Playhouse.

The School of Fashion at Academy of Art University will host its annual Graduation Fashion Show and Awards Ceremony on Thursday, April 26, 2018. The invitation-only event begins with select graduating students from the M.F.A. and B.F.A. programs presenting their work to industry professionals. The programs include: fashion design, textile design, knitwear design, 3D design and pattern making, costume design, journalism, styling, product development, visual merchandising, fashion merchandising, and fashion marketing. The fashion show portion of the event will include womenswear, menswear and childswear collections; several of the collections were created through collaboration by students within the fashion, knitwear and textile design programs.

I have a confession to make. Though I have seen hundreds of plays and musicals since MAMMA MIA! premiered on Broadway in 2000, until I saw Riverside Theatre's giddily silly, yet oddly emotional production-running now through April 29- I had never seen this polarizing jukebox musical; neither on stage, nor screen. However, it would have been impossible for anyone with even a passing interest in theatre or pop culture to not have heard countless opinions about the show, both good and bad, over the years. Is MAMMA MIA! hokey? Yes, it is. Does it have plot holes large enough that you could scuba through? In spades. Nearly two decades after it premiered in London, does it already feel even more dated than its disco-era music would lead you to believe? Absolutely. But, if you go in knowing and accepting MAMMA MIA! for what it is, then it is also an absolutely transportively entertaining night at the theatre.

The Atlanta Pride Committee and The LGBT Institute at The National Center for Civil and Human Rights are proud to partner with the Fox Theatre to celebrate the 29th anniversary of the legendary Stonewall Riots, which became a watershed moment for the LGBTQ civil and human rights movement in America. This first-of-its kind event in Atlanta features a comedy show with Wanda Sykes and Tig Notaro at the Fox Theatre on Wednesday, June 20 at 8 p.m. The celebration continues with a drag show and performance by the legendary rock band Blondie on Friday, June 22 at 8 p.m. at the Fox Theatre. Local LGBTQ advocate and activist Feroza Syed will serve as the emcee for both events.

At a time when our nation is wrestling with tough questions about immigration, Houston Grand Opera is bringing back its bilingual production of Cruzar la Cara de la Luna / To Cross the Face of the Moon, a moving story that chronicles the joys and struggles of three generations of a family divided between countries and cultures through the rich melodies of mariachi. HGO presents three special performances on May 17, 19, and 20 in the HGO Resilience Theater at the George R. Brown Convention Center. Composed by Jose 'Pepe' Martinez with libretto by Leonard Foglia and known as the world's first mariachi opera, Cruzar has been performed to audiences around the world, including in New York City in January 2018. HGO's production will feature the Grammy Award-winning Mariachi Los Camperos. Tickets for these productions at the HGO Resilience Theater in the George R. 4th Wall Theatre Company's 2017 - 2018 season wraps up with the regional premiere of Suzanne Bradbeer's hilarious comedy, Shakespeare in Vegas May 17 - June 9, 2018, at Studio 101, Spring Street Studios, 1824 Spring Street, Houston, TX 77007. 4th Wall offered a staged reading of the play during its 2017 "4th Wall Reads: Women's Voices" series. 4th Wall audiences will remember Bradbeer's work from the 2014 production of her political drama, The God Game.

Mornings on ESPN will look different this spring when its new morning show GET UP, featuring Michelle Beadle, Mike Greenberg, and Jalen Rose, premieres Monday, April 2.
