It's October 4, 1965, and Pope Paul VI is spending 14 hours in New York City, marking the first visit by a reigning pope to the United States. Millions line the streets to greet him and zookeeper Artie Shaughnessy, a wannabe Hollywood songwriter with big dreams and no discernible talent, joins the throngs in the hope that a papal blessing will help propel him out of Queens, away from his mentally ill wife, Bananas, and into a new life in Los Angeles with his girlfriend, Bunny Flingus.

The network joins Freeform, Disney Channel, Disney XD and Disney Junior in this fan-favorite TV event. The 'Kickoff to Christmas' begins in late November with perennial holiday treat 'Santa Claus is Comin' to Town.' The month of December is filled with special Christmas-themed episodes, the return of 'The Great Christmas Light Fight' and 'The Great American Baking Show: Holiday Edition,' and timeless animated classics and holiday films. East West Players (EWP), the nation's longest-running professional theater of color in the country and the largest producing organization of Asian American artistic work, is pleased to announce an extension for the Los Angeles premiere of Qui Nguyen's Vietgone, which the New York Times has hailed as "a raucous comedy" and Rolling Stone has described as "a wild, enjoyable ride." Directed by Jennifer Chang, Vietgone began preview performances on October 18, with opening night on October 25, 2018, and now closes on Sunday, November 18, 2018 with an extension that includes four additional performances.

The 4th Annual Asian World Film Festival (AWFF) has announced a Global and Asian Entertainment Forum to be held as part of the Film Festival on October 26, at the historic Culver Hotel. The theme of the 2018 AWFF celebrates women in film, a nod to the growing role of women in the Asian entertainment business and the #metoo movement.
