Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff, Artistic Producer) in celebration of its 50th season, will present Bridges:A New Musical, with book & lyrics by Cheryl L. Davis and music by Douglas J. Cohen, the first of four new musicals in development included in this year's "Dare to Be Different" series. Performances are Thursday, November 15 at 3pm & 7pm and Friday, November 16 at 3pm at A.R.T./New York Theatres (502 West 53rd Street - 10th Avenue & 53rd Street}.

Following last week's huge surprise announcement with two Grand Opening shows featuring Foo Fighters, The Fillmore New Orleans just released its spectacular first concert line-up as part of the venue's on-going opening celebrations. Tickets go on sale Friday October 19 at 10AM CST.  

The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director; Evans Haile, Executive Director), dedicated to the development of new musicals and rediscovery of musical gems from the past, presents the Off-Broadway premiere of the acclaimed new musical Midnight at The Never Get, with book, music, and lyrics by Mark Sonnenblick, co-conceived by Sam Bolen, by arrangement with Visceral Entertainment and Mark Cortale Productions.

The Desert Rose Playhouse, the Coachella Valley's LGBTQIA theatre, has a winner in THE SUGAR WITCH, one of its first productions since Robbie Wayne became producing artistic director and Kam Sisco managing director.

The Ojai Film Festival and Women In Film (WIF) will present a Legacy Series event with acclaimed actress Eva Marie Saint on Friday, November 9 at the Ojai Art Center. The intimate filmed interview produced by WIF's Ilene Kahn Power and Dorothea Petrie, directed by Petra Haffter, and edited by David Flores and Zachary Weintraub, is a 40-minute retrospective of the Academy, and Emmy award-winning star's career in film, television and stage. The event begins at 4 pm with the screening, followed by Q&A with Ms. Saint. A reception will follow.

Westport Country Playhouse stages "Man of La Mancha," the Tony Award-winning musical about Don Quixote's quest for "The Impossible Dream," now playing through October 14. Directed by Mark Lamos, Westport Country Playhouse artistic director, the story of Quixote's battle for good and the love of his fair maiden is written by Dale Wasserman, with music by Mitch Leigh, and lyrics by Joe Darion.

Peterson.  Performances begin Tuesday, October 2, 2018 for a limited engagement through Sunday afternoon, November 4, 2018 at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue). Opening Night is Thursday evening, October 11, 2018 at 6:45 p.m. 

The fourth Annual Asian World Film Festival asianworldfilmfest.org (AWFF) has selected India's Golden Globes foreign language contender Love Sonia as the Festival's opening night film on October 24. China's In Harm's Way will be the closing night film on November 1. The Centerpiece film will be Burning, South Korea's current Oscar contender.

Westport Country Playhouse will present an open-caption performance in Spanish of the Tony Award-winning musical "Man of La Mancha," on Saturday, October 13, at 3 p.m.  This is the first time in the Playhouse's history that an open-caption performance in a language other than English will be offered.  An open-caption screen with the Spanish translation in real time will be located at the side of the stage and visible by all members of the audience.

Westport Country Playhouse announces that due to high ticket demand for its current production of the Tony Award-winning musical "Man of La Mancha," an extra performance has been added on Sunday, October 14, at 3 p.m.  The story of Don Quixote's quest for "The Impossible Dream" begins two and one-half weeks of performances on Tuesday, September 25. Director is Mark Lamos, Playhouse artistic director.

The Eli and Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica presents The Reverend Shawn Amos today, September 7 at 8:00pm, inaugurating the blackbox @ the edye at The Broad Stage.  blackbox @ the edye transforms The Edye into a club featuring up-and-coming jazz and blues artists.

East West Players (EWP), the nation's longest-running professional theater of color in the country and the largest producing organization of Asian American artistic work, is pleased to announce the cast and creative team for the Los Angeles premiere of Qui Nguyen's Vietgone, which the New York Times has hailed as "a raucous comedy" and Rolling Stone has described as "a wild, enjoyable ride." Directed by Jennifer Chang, Vietgone begins performances on October 18 and runs until November 11, 2018, with opening night on October 25, 2018.

Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts' Live & Local Fridays concert series opens on Sept. 7 and showcases eight Arizona groups spanning rockabilly-honky tonk, indie-folk, African rhythms, blues, hip-hop, folk-rock, jazz, indie-rock and pop on Friday evenings through Sept. 28.

 Hunter College President Jennifer J. Raab announced today the inaugural production of the Hunter Theater Project, the New York premiere of Anton Chekhov's UNCLE VANYA at the Frederick Loewe Theater at Hunter College (E. 68th Street and Lexington Avenue), directed by Richard Nelson. Translated byRichard Nelson, Richard Pevear, and Larissa Volokhonsky. This production is the first time renowned Russian literature translators Pevear and Volokhonsky will have a work premiere in New York City, following the show's world premiere at The Old Globe in San Diego, California. Previews for UNCLE VANYA begin Friday, September 7. The production runs through Sunday, October 14, with an official press opening on Sunday, September 16. Tickets are on sale now.

The Weathervane Theatre, a professional, award winning, equity theatre in Whitefield, NH, is thrilled to announce the 2018 53rd Summer Season of alternating rep. Under Co-Artistic Directors Ethan Paulini and Robert H. Fowler and Managing Director Rhonda Picou, the Weathervane will present 8 weeks of musicals, comedies and classics. In addition to Main Stage productions, the Weathervane keeps the calendar full with a variety of other programming for audiences of all ages.

RCA/Legacy Recordings, a division of Sony Music Entertainment, will release Elvis Presley - Where No One Stands Alone, a new Elvis album celebrating the artist's everlasting love of gospel music, on Friday, August 10.
