Full Cast Announced For Rose Theatre Kingston's Christmas Show HANSEL & GRETEL

Rose Theatre Kingston today announces the full cast for Hansel & Gretel, a new festive version with original music. Director of Learning and Participation, Ciaran McConville, returns with a new version of the Brothers' Grimm classic following last year's successful adaptation of Alice in Winterland. Rosie Jones directs a cast of local young actors from the Rose Youth Theatre led by a team of professional actors including Devon Black (Mother/Bear/Townsperson), Vanessa Fisher (Red/Townsperson), Elliot Fitzpatrick (Otto/Kabeljau), J.J. Henry (Gerhardt/Blue) and Georgina White (Circe). The production opens on Friday 14 December, with previews from Thursday 6 December, and runs until Sunday 6 January 2019. (more...)

Alexander Vlahos To Star As Hook In J.M. Barrie's PETER PAN

Alexander Vlahos (BBC's Versailles & Merlin) has been confirmed to star as Captain Hook in a revival of the original 1904 Peter Pan play by J.M. Barrie. The production will also be the first Park Theatre production ever to feature flying effects. Co-starring Nickcolia King-N'Da as Peter Pan and directed by Jonathan O'Boyle, the renowned family favourite from Neverland promises to sprinkle a little fairy dust over London this Christmas. NJT Presents A JEWISH JOKE For Two Weeks Only

Starting at New Jewish Theatre, November 29 December 10, is the one man play A Jewish Joke written and performed by Phil Johnson. The play looks at a dark time in US political history. In 1950's Hollywood, at the height of the Communist Blacklist, when careers were ruined by a whisper, we meet irascible comedy screenwriter Bernie Lutz. A Jewish Joke catalogs the most important afternoon in Lutz's life. He's a 50-something half of the comedy screenwriting duo of Lutz and Frumsky. Having worked together since they were both 13, they have moved upward from a Newark Nickelodeon, then on to vaudeville, the Catskills, New York Yiddish theatre and finally sunny LA where they are supplying scripts for the Marx Brothers, Danny Kaye and NBC. The icing on their cake is their big fancy Hollywood premiere that evening for their latest movie, The Big Casbah! (more...)

Synetic's OZ has moved to a new location: Devine Theater At Georgetown University July 11 Through August 12. The location is changing because the performance space at Synetic Theater (1800 S. Bell St.) is temporarily unavailable due to excessive water damage from a sprinkler system/pipe malfunction. The resulting damage has forced the team to move its upcoming production of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz to the Devine Theater located in the Davis Performing Arts Center on the Georgetown University campus.
