The Kitchen, founded in 1971, has continued to serve as an important catalyst for a broad community of groundbreaking artists working across disciplines. In today's landscape, where contemporary artists and arts institutions are collaborating in new ways and generating new contexts for the continuing evolution of multi-disciplinary art, The Kitchen, as a nimble, smaller-scale organization, plays an especially vital role. It provides emerging and established artists a hot-house environment for the presentation and discussion of their work, supporting and seeking to foster a vibrant, living dialogue among artists from every field and area of culture. Engaging both The Kitchen veterans and newcomers who challenge the given formations of art and politics, lifestyle and social structures, the Spring 2018 (March 28-July 27) season probes everything from the police state to the racial imaginary to self-construction and identity, utilizing the flexibility of the institution's spaces for art that itself eludes definition. 

Slyly exhuming the little blue dress that launched the biggest media circus of a generation, the five women who were at the centre of this infamous scandal collide on stage: A First Lady, a secretary, a daughter, a confidant, and an intern. A theatrical battle emerges over how it all went down, who were the heroes and villains, and why, twenty years later, we're only beginning to grapple with one of the most challenging questions in American political history: How do we respond to women seeking power, and the men who abuse that power?

Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) will host Druid, Ireland's most celebrated theatre company, and their critically acclaimed production of Waiting for Godot. Directed by Tony Award-winner Garry Hynes, Druid's production of Samuel Beckett's absurd, anarchic masterpiece will make its regional premiere at the Lansburgh Theatre (450 7th Street, NW) from April 17 through May 20, 2018 before it travels on to Chicago.

Creative Cauldron presents Witch, the fourth installment in its "Bold New Works for Intimate Stages" world premiere musical series written and composed by the internationally recognized creative team Matt Conner and Stephen Gregory Smith. "Witch channels the zeitgeist of the current "Me To" and "Time's Up" movements while examining the cultural roots of misogyny and inequality across centuries and cultures," stated Producing Director Laura Connors Hull

REPRISE 2.0 is now announced, presenting a season of three classic American musicals at UCLA's Freud Playhouse, by Marcia Seligson, Producing Artistic Director of the new performing arts organization.  REPRISE 2.0 is partnering with the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television's Department of Theater (UCLA TFT), chaired by Brian Kite. 

PRIMARY STAGES (Andrew Leynse, Artistic Director; Shane D. Hudson, Executive Director; Casey Childs, Founder) is proud to announce its complete 2018/19 Season, which will kick off in Fall 2018 with FINAL FOLLIES, by A.R. Gurney (Love Letters, Sylvia, Black Tie at Primary Stages) and directed by David Saint (Clever Little Lies). DOWNSTAIRS by Theresa Rebeck ("Smash," Dead Accounts, Poor Behavior at Primary Stages), directed by Adrienne Campbell-Holt (What We're Up Against) in November 2018 will star Tyne Daly (Mother & Sons, Master Class) and Tim Daly ("Wings," "Madam Secretary") sharing the New York stage for the first time. Early 2019 will bring GOD SAID THIS by Leah Nanako Winkler (Two Mile Hollow), directed by Morgan Gould (Kentucky); and the season will conclude in Spring 2019 with LITTLE WOMEN, written by Kate Hamill (Pride and Prejudice), based on the novel by Louisa May Alcott, and directed by Sarna Lapine (Sunday in the Park with George). Performance schedules, additional casting, and full creative teams will be announced at a later date.

The 2018 Dance-mopolitan Artist Series, produced by DANCE NOW, presents Megan Williams Dance Projects in ONE WOMAN SHOW, a post-postmodern dance theater follies for the small stage. Megan Williams finds the roots of her aesthetic DNA in the proto-feminist female archetypes of 30s, 40s and 50s Hollywood and uses them as a lens to view the experience of the 21st-century woman-of a-certain-age. Part memoir, part spectacle, ONE WOMAN SHOW aims to grab the moment and hold on tight. The work features celebrated dance artists Esme Boyce, Robert Mark Burke, Derek Crescenti, Dylan Crossman, John Eirich, Kristen Foote, Chelsea Hecht, Courtney Lopes, and Megan Williams. With costume design by Barbara Erin Delo and sound design by Sam Crawford.

Roundabout Theatre Company has just announced its 2017-18 Artists in Residence. 'I started the Artists in Residence program about 25 years ago to provide artistic and financial support to early-career artists, giving them a theatre to call home and to provide peace of mind for a sustainable career,' says Roundabout Artistic Director Todd Haimes. 'Over the years, this program has evolved to include playwrights, mid-career directors and even an entire young company. MNM Productions' Company is the latest venture by theatrical producers and arts consultants Marcie Gorman-Althof and Michael Lifshitz. Company is their sixth major musical following A Chorus Line, Side By Side By Sondheim, Hair, The World Goes 'Round and, most recently, Monty Python's Spamalot. MNM Productions' Company will be appearing at the Marshall E. Rinker Playhouse of the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts through August 6, 2017.

"The Bridges of Madison County" captured the nation's attention in 1992 as a best-selling novel, then again in 1995 as a major motion picture.  It is a compelling, two-time Tony Award-winning musical now on stage at Peninsula Players through August 13.  "The Bridges of Madison County" is the touching story of Francesca, a lovely Italian woman who married an American soldier to flee war-ravaged Italy. She is looking forward to a rare four days alone on her Iowa farm as her family heads to the 1965 Indiana State Fair when ruggedly handsome, National Geographic photographer Robert Kincaid pulls into her driveway seeking directions. What happens in those next four days may very well alter the course of Francesca's life.
