New York Stage and Film's Winter Season, running February 27-March 5, at the Marist College Manhattan location will support overlapping processes for artists developing new stories, and officially begin the tenure for their 2023 Companies-in-Residence.

The Kitchen has announced its Winter/Spring 2023 programming, resulting from durational engagements that give experimental artists and collectives an abundance of time and organizational support to pursue their ideas.

The fourth annual We Want the Funk Festival, which takes place at the August Wilson African American Cultural Center (AWAACC) December 9 and 10 at 8:00 pm, celebrates the rhythm-driven musical genre that evolved from the R&B, soul, and jazz music of the 1960s that continues to influence today’s artists.

The annual event is produced by and benefits Dancers Responding to AIDS, a program of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

Newport Classical will present the world premiere of Crooked Shanks by Shawn E. Lewis joins Sun Records compatriots Cash, “Cowboy” Jack Clement, Phillips and Elvis Presley in the Country Music Hall of Fame. He is also the fourth member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s founding 1986 class of inductees to also gain membership in the Country Music Hall of Fame, along with Presley (1998) and Ray Charles (2021).
