For its fifth year of offering Portland plays by contemporary Irish playwrights, Corrib Theatre brings these three gripping, politically relevant works: Belfast Girls by Jaki McCarrick, Lifeboat by Nicola McCartney and Quietly by Owen McCafferty.

USAToday reports that Linkin Park will once again be paying tribute to its late frontman Chester Bennington. The band posted a new message on its social media accounts Tuesday thanking fans for their love and support. Bennington was found dead July 20 in his southern California home. He was 41 years old.

Haven Theatre is pleased to announce the line-up for its third DIRECTORS HAVEN, the company's ever-growing initiative showcasing the talents of three early career directors. This season, Kristen Johnson directs Vaclav Havel's riveting political satire THE PROTEST, Ian Martin helms Amiri Baraka's THE TOILET, a powerful look at love and empathy, and Lexi Saunders directs Rachel Dubose's sharply funny and biting new play THE DEPARTURE. The three fully-produced productions will run back-to-back in one program. DIRECTOR'S HAVEN 2017 will play October 16 - November 1, 2017 at Haven Theatre's resident home, The Den Theatre (2A), 1333 N. Israeli company Roy Assaf Dance makes its New York debut at Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) with a double bill featuring Assaf's award-winning works Six Years Later and The Hill. Performances are Thursday, October 12, and Friday, October 13, at 7:30pm, at BAC's Jerome Robbins Theater, 450 West 37th Street (between 9th and 10th Avenues) in Manhattan.

The Swedish label BIS Records is releasing its newest collaboration with Music Director Osmo Vänskä and the Minnesota Orchestra—a recording of Mahler's Fifth Symphony.
