Acclaimed film and television actor Paul Anderson will play the title role in Tartuffe at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, alongside celebrated stage and screen stars Audrey Fleurot, George Blagden, Sebastian Roche and Olivia Ross. In the West End's first ever dual-language production, Moliere's classic comedy re-imagines Tartuffe as a radical American evangelist who uproots the life of a French film tycoon in Hollywood.

The Old Globe today announced its next cast and creative team-including numerous Globe favorites and new faces-as the 2018 Summer Shakespeare Festival once again presents the finest of the Bard's work outdoors under the stars in the Lowell Davies Festival Theatre. Summer will officially arrive with The Tempest, directed by Joe Dowling (formerly the Artistic Director for Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis and Abbey Theatre in Ireland), with star of stage and screen Kate Burton as Prospera, running June 17 - July 22, 2018. For National Mental Health Month, four post-play panel discussions have been set for 'A Punk or a Gentleman' by Andrea J. Fulton, which will be presented for its world premiere by Theater for the New City, 155 First Avenue, NYC from May 3 to 20. The play explores the complex psyche of a Black, middle-aged Don Juan who loves to captivate women but falls victim to physical abuse by the women he loves. The ten-character drama will be directed by Kymbali Craig for its world premiere. Ms. Fulton was awarded the 2017 Thomas Barbour Award by the Episcopal Actors' Guild for this play.

Rafael Payare's highly anticipated inaugural concerts as San Diego Symphony's Music Director Designate take place as part of the annual January Festival. It will mark his only Jacobs Masterworks appearance this season and will feature acclaimed cellist Alisa Weilerstein and the orchestra's first-ever performance of Benjamin Britten's Symphony for Cello and Orchestra. He will also perform in a special Discovery Night concert on January 10, with all funds from this concert going to support the San Diego Symphony's Learning and Community Engagement programs.

Until these venues are opened the resident companies of the Opera carry on touring: apart from guest appearances in county towns and Hungarian settlements beyond the borders of Hungary, the Opera is to visit New York, Berlin, the capitals of the Visegrad Group, and several Italian places that played an important role in the life of Puccini.
