It's common knowledge that musicians also possess a facility for math ( pianist Albert Einstein). There seems to be some correlation between dexterity of numbers and mastery of music notes. Kenny G who majored in accounting in college brought a countless amount of beautiful notes to the Kravis Center last night. It was also impossible to count any empty seats in the Dreyfoos Concert Hall for the musical extravaganza. Kenny came on stage before the start of the performance to announce that some lucky person in the audience would be taking home one of his saxophones, adding comically that he guaranteed they would be having great “sax” that night.

Taste of Chicago is one of the biggest attractions in Chicago. Every year since 1980, Chicago's Grant Park has been the home of culinary sensations and the foodies who can't get enough of them for a few days. This year is going to be another great one with new restaurants, Pop-Ups, food trucks and entertainment drawing everyone to Chicago for a few days in July. Chief Conductor Charles Dutoit and The Philadelphia Orchestra join together with arts and cultural organizations throughout the city for the inaugural Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts (PIFA). The festival will end on May 1, 2011. Audiences will revel in an array of one-time, only-in-Philadelphia productions by many of the region's top talents. PIFA will feature music, dance, fashion, fine arts, poetry, cuisine, and more-all generously flavored with the essence of Paris, circa 1910-20.

Rubicon Theatre Company continues its 2009-2010 Season with a revival of BETH HENLEY's Pulitzer Prize-winning play CRIMES OF THE HEART. Set in Mississippi in 1974 (five years after Hurricane Camille), this sweet, sexy comedy follows the travails of the three Magrath sisters, who come together at the family home in Hazelhurst when the youngest Babe is charged with shooting her husband 'cause she didn't like his looks.'

This madcap romp features two veteran Northern Stage actors, Scott Cote (Beauty & the Beast, Cabaret, Moon Over Buffalo) and Kevin Loreque (I Am My Own Wife, The Full Monty, CATS, The Elephant Man, Cabaret,) playing 19 characters-men, women, even Yippy the dog-in 90 minutes. With 15-second costume changes and rapid-fire humor, this promises to be an audience favorite.
