The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey (STNJ) continues its 60th anniversary season with one of Harold Pinter’s greatest works, The Caretaker, starting on September 21st. The Caretaker will be on the Main Stage September 21 – October 9. 

Overture Center for the Arts and FPC Live will present Ani DiFranco with The Righteous Babes Revue: Gracie and Rachel, Pieta Brown, Jocelyn Mackenzie on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 8 p.m. in Capitol Theater.

Jonathan Larson's musical tells the story of an aspiring musical theatre writer having a quarter-life crisis. The reason to see this production in particular is Lauren Steele. A Drammy-winning actor (and also a massively talented singer-songwriter) with a powerhouse voice, Steele steals this show.

CHELSEA TABLE + STAGE will present the New York premiere of IT: A Musical Parody for 13 performances only, opening Thursday, October 20 and running through a special Halloween performance on Monday, October 31.

La MaMa ETC’s 61st season will feature world-premieres by John Kelly, Erik Ehn, Elizabeth Swados, Witness Relocation/Dan Safer, Bobbie Jene Smith and Ping Chong, along with the live, in-person stage debut of Split Britches’s 2021 digital production LAST GASP and the first-ever revival of Maria Irene Fornes’ EVELYN BROWN.

But beloved as it may be, why in the ever-loving hell has it taken so long for To Kill A Mockingbird to become a theatrical play that is actually worthy of its literary heritage? Sure, there’s been a 1990 (?!) version by Christopher Sergel that’s made it way through every high school auditorium, community theater playhouse and reginal theater over the intervening three decades that we are, quite frankly, sick to death of it. In fact, if we never see it again, we’ve seen it far too often: a warmed over, treacly and maudlin rehash that’s far too dependent on the title’s movie roots to really emerge from a darkened theater to become a consummate American play.

Nine plays (and seven musicals) are on their way to Broadway this fall, and the season is sure to be a stellar one. That's because five of them are already Pulitzer Prize winners. Award-winning Broadway playwright Theresa Rebeck will write the book for the Broadway-aimed Working Girl. While she's had more plays produced on Broadway than any female playwright of our time, Working Girl would mark Rebeck's Broadway debut as a book writer for a musical.

The American Theatre Guild, the largest not-for-profit touring Broadway presenter in the nation, has announced LEGALLY BLONDE – THE MUSICAL will join the 2022–2023 Ameren Illinois Broadway in Peoria Series along with the Add-On productions of STOMP and THE SIMON & GARFUNKEL STORY.

The Autumn/Winter season runs from late August to February 2023 and is packed with leading theatre, music and comedy to suit all ages and tastes. The programme includes works from Cumbernauld Theatre Trust's autumn and winter in-house productions, visiting companies, new partnerships and cinema screenings. 

The complete cast and creative team have been announced for the first Broadway revival of August Wilson's The Piano Lesson at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre. Joining the cast are Nadia Daniel and Jurnee Elizabeth Swan. Rounding out the company are Shirine Babb, Charles Browning, Peter Jay Fernandez, Sharina Martin, Warner Miller, Doron JePaul Mitchell and Kim Sullivan.

Theater Resources Unlimited has announced their annual Producer Boot Camp: Essentials of Successful Self-Producing. This unique workshop, geared to the specific multi-tasking challenges of self-producers, has been reformatted and rethought for virtual presentation. It will take place on Sunday, July 31, 2022, 12pm-5:30pm ET.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley announced its 52nd season, featuring six plays and musicals to be presented November 2022 through August 2023. Three of the season's productions will be mounted at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, and three will be staged at Palo Alto's Lucie Stern Theatre. Now in its forty-seventh year of operation, New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players (NYGASP) is America's preeminent professional Gilbert & Sullivan repertory ensemble.

In August, film distributor Hope Runs High will release its latest feature film across VOD platforms — bringing the much-lauded “Killian & the Comeback Kids” to a national audience outside of its 30 city theatrical release.

What seemingly began as a case of two privileged boys who were motivated to murder by greed quickly developed into something much more shocking.

Apple Music announced a special playlist to coincide with Pride Month. Each artist was chosen because as well as being huge George fans, they reflect his boundary-pushing work and songwriting excellence. The artists are: Years & Years, MNEK, SELF ESTEEM, Jake Shears, Billy Porter, Pale Waves, Calum Scott, Tiana Major9 and Serpentwithfeet.

Diva Jazz Orchestra's FIVE PLAY will perform at Music Mountain on Saturday and Arianna String Quartet & Judith Gordon, Piano will play on Sunday, Saturday July 2nd, 7:00pm - Gordon Hall.
