The Original Broadway Cast Recording of the new musical Anastasia is now available, and the cast just celebrated its release at Barnes & Noble! ANASTASIA features a lush, original score from Tony Award winners Stephen Flaherty (music) and Lynn Ahrens (lyrics). The score also includes several of the most beloved songs from the 1997 animated film, adapted for the stage. The 75-minute album will include the Academy Award nominated favorite 'Journey to the Past' alongside new numbers from the show such as Christy Altomare's haunting 'In My Dreams,' Ramin Karimloo's passionate 'Still' and Derek Klena's heart-racing 'My Petersburg.' Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival presents SHAKESPEARE AFTER HOURS and SHAKESCENES

The 2017 Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival opens in mid-July to kick off another fantastic summer with two free performances. ShakeScenes returns to Washington Hall on the University campus at 2pm, Saturday, July 15th. Promising an array of "scenes with their own Shakespeare flavor," audience members will be treated to versions of Shakespeare with a dash of Harry Potter, SNL's Californians, and several other variations illuminated by groups from throughout the Michiana theatre community. The producers of the new musical, ANASTASIA, are pleased to announce plans for international productions of the hit musical across Europe, Asia, United Kingdom, Australia and South America. The list of international markets with plans underway for ANASTASIA include Germany, Holland Spain, Russia, Korea, Japan, Mexico, China and more to be announced. Plans for a North American tour are also underway. A confirmed production timeline will be announced soon. (more...)

BWW Review: ALCINA at Santa Fe Opera

George Frideric Handel composed the opera seria, ALCINA, for a 1735 premiere at London's Covent Garden. Handel's anonymous librettist based his text on Riccardo Broschi's 1728 book for L'ISOLA DI ALCINA. Three years following its 1735 run, ALCINA was revived but after that it fell dormant until the twentieth century. On July 29, 2017, Santa Fe Opera premiered a co-production of ALCINA with the National Opera of Bordeaux and the Teatro Real of Madrid. (more...)

The RAVEN RESORT proudly announces NEW FEATHERS, a playwright reading series, showcased within their newly refurbished theater, The Oak Room.  Devoted to showcasing new & developmental theatrical work, this series will feature the professional and award-wining playwrights of Princeton's Witherspoon Circle.  The New Feathers Series will offer a unique, industry-inside view to the creative process with a ground-floor, indie-entertaining format on the first Sunday of every month, commencing Sunday, August 6 from 6pm until 7:45pm.  Seats are limited, ensuring an intimate setting and a complimentary wine-tasting from the Raven's international collection is included at the premiere evening on August 6th, starting at 5pm, August 6th. Irish Rep Announces Second Extension of WOODY SEZ

Due to unprecedented demand, Irish Repertory Theatre (Charlotte Moore, Artistic Director and Ciaran O'Reilly, Producing Director) announced today a second extension for WOODY SEZ: THE LIFE & MUSIC OF WOODY GUTHRIE, directed by Nick Corley (Kissing Jessica Stein), which will now run through September 10. Devised by David M. Lutken, with Nick Corley, and Darcie Deaville, Helen J.
