Acclaimed jazz singer Sara Gazarek will make her Feinstein's at the Nikko debut on Thursday, July 12 at 8 p.m. In this intimate evening, Gazarek will perform songs from her albums 'Dream in the Blue,' 'Blossom & Bee,' and 'Return to You,' as well as other fan favorites. Gazarek will be joined on-stage by pianist Peter Eldridge of New York Voices.

The National Philharmonic ends its 2017-2018 season at The Music Center at Strathmore with a musical celebration, '100th Anniversary of Poland's Independence,' today, June 2 at 8 p.m. at the Concert Hall at the Music Center at Strathmore. Conducted by world-renowned Polish Maestro Miros?aw Jacek Baszczyk, the concert will feature music composed by Poland's greatest musicians, performed by some of today's leading vocalists and musicians. The performance will commence with an introduction by the Ambassador of Poland, Piotr Wilczek. The 100th anniversary of Poland has significant meaning for the National Philharmonic, which is led by Polish-born Music Director and Conductor Piotr Gajewski. One of the National Philharmonic's veteran artists, Brian Ganz-who will perform at the Polish celebration concert-is also a frequent performer of Frederic Chopin, beginning a quest in 2011 to perform all of the great Polish composer's works. During this celebratory concert, Maestro B?aszczyk will lead the National Philharmonic Chorale, accompanied by Esther Heideman, soprano; Magdalena Wor, mezzo-soprano; Tyler Duncan, baritone; and the National Philharmonic in Krzesimir D?bski's Hussars' Polonaise and Karol Szymanowski's Stabat Mater and Mr. Ganz in Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 2 in F minor, Op. 21. Ticket prices are $23-$76 and are free for young people age 7-17. Strathmore is located at 5301 Tuckerman Lane, North Bethesda. On September 20, Peter Joback's show 'Med Hjartaat Insats' (With the heart at stake) has premiere at Circus in Stockholm. It has now been revealed the seven people who will create magic together with Peter in the 'circusmanegen' this fall. Peter himself has chosen his dream cast that will complement him in this pop theater. It is a multi-faceted ensemble with seven colorful artists, where everyone has something unique to add to the show. When Houston Grand Opera (HGO) opened its first season in Houston's new opera house at the Wortham Theater Center in 1987, world-renowned tenor Placido Domingo starred in Verdi's Aida. Now, just over 30 years later, Domingo will again take the Wortham stage on September 26 for HGO and Placido-Coming Home!, a gala evening celebrating the company's return to its creative home after a year of displacement following Hurricane Harvey. Joined by beloved Houston soprano Ana Maria Martinez and the HGO Orchestra conducted by HGO Artistic and Music Director Patrick Summers, Domingo will perform an evening of operatic and popular musical favorites. The concert, which begins at 7 p.m., will be followed by a celebration dinner in the Ballroom at Bayou Place.

The Eli and Edythe Broad Stage presents Barak Ballet for a program of two world premieres: Cypher (choreographed by Melissa Barak) and Desert Transport (choreographed by Nicolas Blanc), as well as the return of E/SPACE which had its world premiere at The Broad Stage in 2017. Barak Ballet will perform on Friday, June 29 and Saturday, June 30 at 7:30pm. This will be the fourth time Barak Ballet has performed at The Broad Stage, although it's the first time The Broad Stage will be presenting the company.

Curtains by John Kander, Fred Ebb, Rupert Holmes, and Peter Stone is a murder mystery wrapped up in the trappings of a romantic comedy. When it premiered at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles, Curtains received mixed reviews. However, in 2007 the show opened on Broadway and received eight Tony Award nominations. Curtains presents the audience with a show within a show. This musical whodunit explores the lives, loves, and lies of the cast and crew of a musical called 'Robbin' Hood' who find themselves suspects in a murder investigation when their leading lady is killed backstage. The curtains opened on Curtains at Oyster Mill Playhouse on April 20, 2018.

On Saturday, April 28, at 3pm, LA Opera will present a free concert of Great Opera Choruses with Resident Conductor Grant Gershon leading the LA Opera Chorus. Highlights will include famous choruses from popular operas by Bizet, Verdi, Puccini, Bernstein and more.
