The Manhattan Association of Cabarets (MAC) is pleased to make its initial announcement of the upcoming 36th Annual MAC Awards. The awards presentation and show will take place on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at 7:00 pm, at Peter Norton Symphony Space at 2537 Broadway at 95th Street in New York City.

Tom D’Angora and Michael D’Angora, the award winning producing team behind some of off-Broadway’s longest running hits like NEWSical The Musical and Naked Boys Singing, are celebrating a major milestone on February 20th, 2022: the couple's 20th anniversary (10 years married) as a couple and as producing/directing partners. 

What do Fiyero, Alfred P. Doolittle, and Carl Hanratty have in common? They were all played by one of the brightest stars of stage and screen, Norbert Leo Butz. He has created some of Broadway's most beloved characters, and now Butz is lending his talents to Give or Take- a new movie that is in theaters now and arrives on DVD & Digital on February 22, 2022.

Broadway fervor reignited as major Broadway musical talents converged at the Kennedy Center for an evening of musical pleasure and panache in the concert 50 Years of Broadway at the Kennedy Center. Musical selections from such Broadway staples such as Cabaret, West Side Story, Wicked, Follies, Funny Girl, Pippin, Les Misérables, Sunday in the Park with George, Annie, The Book of Mormon and other memorable musicals were performed with style and Broadway brio by a cast of accomplished musical theater professionals.

The production features Emanuelle Araujo, in the role of sarcastic Velma Kelly; Paulo Szot, as  the charming and unscrupulous Billy Flynn (a role he currently played on Broadway); and Carol Costa as the “innocent” and surprising Roxie Hart. L. Candido (Mary Sunshine), Lilian Valeska (Mama Morton) and Eduardo Amir (Amos Hart) complete the main cast.

Come in from the cold and check out what’s hot at the 16th Annual Goodspeed Festival of New Musicals. The much-anticipated three-day festival of brand-new works returns to the Goodspeed campus after having been canceled in 2021 due to Covid-19. 

Contra Costa Civic Theatre continues its live, in-person Main Stage season with an uproarious look at the state of the American theatre, Jane Martin's Anton in Show Business. Directed by CCCT's Executive Artistic Director Marilyn Langbehn and featuring an all-female cast playing multiple roles (including men), Anton in Show Business plays for 9 performances from March 4-20.

A Broadway classic gets the concert treatment, led by some very classy fellas.

The leading male roles of the identical twin Antipholus brothers will be played by real-life identical twins John and Matthew Drinkwater, the young musical duo who have become stars of the internet and have performed at major New York venues including Birdland, Feinstein's/54 Below, The Green Room 42, The Town Hall, and Don't Tell Mama.

A popular fixture of the New York cabaret scene, Jim Caruso brings his JIM CARUSO’S CAST PARTY across the nation to Feinstein’s At Vitellos November 28th and 29th. An evening of “extreme open mic” provides a platform for new performers as well as surprise established guests. Jim took a few moments after completing his CAST PARTY in Nashville to give us some behind-the-scenes of his once-was “weird, show-biz adjacent gig,” now his most enjoyable passion CAST PARTY.

The Broadway World Cabaret Award winner for Best Spoken Word show is back with a new format that is working for hostess Leola... and she is working for it, too.

Originally scheduled back in September, the wait was worth it to hear Laura Benanti sing selections from her roles on Broadway and a few tracks from her 2020 self-titled studio album in her debut Cabaret at the Center which was part uproarious stand-up comedy act, and part beguiling Broadway/Jazz concert. Continues through November 13, 2021.

This holiday season, Whoville's celebrated cabaret star, Mabeline 'Grinchester' Diorio, better known as the ex-wife of the Grinch who stole Christmas, comes to Philadelphia for a limited-engagement cabaret experience that's sure to light the tree and spill the tea on the holiday's most notorious villain.

All these questions and more are explored in this fresh adaptation of Aesop's Fables, dually inspired by the classic morals of these stories and the troupe of student actors who will bring them to life. The 2021-22 Season “Reignite, Reimagine!” continues with the return of Creative Cauldron's beloved Learning Theater production and Aesop's Fables, written and directed by Laura Connors Hull, with original music by Matt Conner.

Campus Cabaret’s artistic director and co-founder David W. Callander thought long and hard in considering Terrence McNally’s A PERFECT GANESH as their first production post-pandemic (opening October 29th at The Pico). David had the opportunity to see the very first production of A PERFECT GANESH back in 1993 at the Manhattan Theatre Club. “It's a play that stayed with me for many, many years.
