THE ROAD THEATRE COMPANY and Taylor Gilbert, Founder/Artistic Director together with Sam Anderson, Artistic Director, present the second show of its 2018-2019 season, the world premiere of DEATH HOUSE, written by Jason Karasev and directed by Michael Peretzian. DEATH HOUSE will preview today, January 15 at 8pm; Wednesday, January 16 at 8pm & Thursday, January 17 at 8pm and will open on Friday, January 18 at 8pm and run through Sunday, March 10 at the Road Theatre on Lankershim, 5108 Lankershim Blvd. in North Hollywood.

Stages Repertory Theatre is pleased to present, in conjunction with the 2nd Annual Sin Muros: A Latinx Theatre Festival, Marisela Treviño Orta's The River Bride, running from January 23 through February 10, 2019. Chronicling the lives of two sisters in a Brazilian fishing village who are struggling to find their own happily-ever-after while bound to family honor and tradition, the play incorporates traditional Brazilian folklore and lyrical storytelling to weave a magical tale of love, fate and transformation. The River Bride received its world premiere in 2016 at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and has been performed at the Arizona Theatre Company, Halycon Theatre and Su Teatro over the past three years.

Tickets are now on sale for the world premiere of bare stage, a new work by award-winning Boston Playwright Michael Walker, to run February 9-March 2, 2019 at Plaza Theatre at the Boston Center for the Arts (539 Tremont Street, Boston 02116). bare stage is directed by A. Nora Long, and features IRNE Award nominee Ashley Risteen as Kate,' Allie Meek-Carufel as Rachel , and Kevin Cirone as 'Parker', the rising star playwright playwright/director, who clashes with the actors around the issues of nudity in his production. Five neurotic couples gather for a dinner party celebrating one couple's 10th anniversary. The best laid plans go wildly awry when guests arrive early only to discover their host has shot himself, the hostess and servants are missing, and dinner not ready. As confusions and miscommunications mount, the evening spins off into farcical hilarity. The play runs June 15 through July 29 at the Lonny Chapman Theatre in North Hollywood, at the edge of the NoHo Arts District.
