Hall of Mirrors. Self-referential. Meta. All of these terms might be used to supplement the general category of Thriller into which Deathtrap, Ira Levin’s 1978 Broadway hit currently being resurrected at Spotlighters, fits. Yes, the play is (as a thriller should be) about lethal relationships and scary surprises.

Every Broadway theatre will dim its lights in Maggie Smith's honor. An iconic performer cherished by theatregoers and admired by colleagues around the world, Smith passed away on September 27, 2024, at the age of 89.

Next weekend  STARRING BUFFALO presents  the stage version in it's signature concert, semi staged style. And some of Broadway's newest rising stars  come to town for 3 performances of beloved 50's High School musical.

A sold out two-night engagement at Feinstein’s at the Nikko was a testament to the enduring draw power of veteran actor/director/song stylist Lucie Arnaz. Those in attendance were treated to a reprise of her well-crafted, autobiographical concert performed and recorded live at the Purple Room in Palm Springs last year.

Jobsite Theater once again dives headfirst into a world only they know how to portray. A world reveling in the strange, the unorthodox, and yet proving to be a masterclass of all things twisted and warped. This production which harkens back to their production of Shockheaded Peter, a few seasons back, once again dives into a little unfamiliar territory than we normally witness in the area, but an area so well known to Jobsite and its followers. Perfectly demented and, perfectly placed this deranged grouping of child-like tales have a bleak ending for most of the characters involved.

I Am Harvey Milk, with music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa, will be making its European premiere at Cadogan Hall on 27 October. Joel Harper-Jackson will star alongside Sierra Boggess. The work, part choral and part theatre piece, tells the story of Harvey Milk, a gay-rights activist and politician in the United States who was assassinated.

I AM HARVEY MILK, based on the life of American LGBTQ+ activist, will see the West End’s Joel Harper-Jackson and Broadway’s Sierra Boggess lead a 50 strong choir and 26-piece orchestra for two special performances of Andrew Lippa’s oratorio at Cadogan Hall on Sunday 27 October 2024. 

The Huntington will kick off the nine-play Ufot Family Cycle and has announced the cast and creative team of Sojourners, the moving and heartfelt play written by Mfoniso Udofia and directed by Dawn M. Simmons.

BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that stage and screen actress Dame Maggie Smith has died at age 89. Perhaps best known for her screen roles in the Harry Potter film series and Downton Abbey, Smith also had several stage credits to her name, and won a Tony Award in 1990.
